Kenya Roads Board (KRB), was established by an Act of Parliament in 1999. The mandate of KRB includes managing the Road Maintenance Levy Fund and other funds used in the maintenance, rehabilitation and development of Kenya’s road network.
To enhance its operations, the Board is seeking to appoint experienced employees to undertake various assignments to further its mandate.
REF: KRB Grade 8-9
Responsibilities
- Reporting to General Manager, Legal and Corporate Affairs the successful applicant will perform duties in the Legal function including the following;
- Ensure all laws and regulations that govern the operations of the Board are complied with at all times;
- Continuously Review KRB legal operating environment and provide legal counsel
- Assist in preparation and circulation of Agenda and facilitate smooth running of Board Meetings, preparing minutes in a timely manner (Company secretarial duties);
- Develop and manage the Board’s litigation cases in liaison with Attorney General or other Board’s external lawyers;
- Vet all contracts or agreements proposed to be entered into between the Board and a third party;
- Assist in managing corporate planning and Quality Management Systems of the Board
Qualifications
- Degree in Law
- An advocate of the High Court of Kenya;
- Member of Law Society of Kenya in good standing;
- Have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience; exposure to the public sector will be an added advantage;
- Exposure to a computerized environment;
- Excellent business communication and report writing skills;
- Good appreciation of strategic planning processes; and
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Kenya Constitution 2010 on Leadership and integrity.
