You will be responsible for advising some of Africa’s leading development, ICT and financial services organisations. You will have managed communications and external relations campaigns to build reputation and brand value. You will be passionate about the role that social media and digital channels are playing in shaping the way we communicate to government, businesses and consumers.
The role:
- Develop and execute client communications strategies on digital and social media
- Lead proactive media relations outreach in business and news
- Ensure day to day delivery on accounts against plan and against budget
- Build strong and professional relationships with clients
- Lead and mentor Levanter team members
- Participate in new business pitches and proposal development
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Good problem solving ability
- Strong internal and external client management skills
- Strong people management skills of self, team and senior stakeholders
- Extensive and proven project management skills
- A strong commercial awareness and mind-set
Requirements:
- Seven years experience in journalism or communications
- Experience in running digital and social campaigns
- Can work in a technical environment
- Thorough understanding and experience in the East African market, government, ICT and financial services sectors
- Strong and professional relationships with foreign and local media in East Africa.
