Five Talents Africa Job Vacancy : Human Resource Co-ordinator

Our Client in the Education Industry is seeking to recruit a Human Resource Co-ordinator.

This is a senior management position that requires an experienced individual with excellent people and business skills.

Position Role:

This position will lead the Human Resource Department of the School and provide advisory services, guidance and support to all departments in all areas of human resource issues.

The Co-ordinator will act as a change agent and a champion for employees, gauge and foresee human resource needs and inform all concerned immediately.

Roles for the Human Resource Co-ordinator Job

  • Help employees and management to identify and anticipate internal issues and encourage excellent human resource practices by proposing solutions, and  understanding staff perspectives
  • Support staff development, change management and employee relations
  • Handle disciplinary issues and ensure staff files are regularly updated
  • Support the School Manager and Pedagogical Team with regard to talent reviews, succession planning discussion and ensure that plans are actively implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with regard to employee related matters e.g. WIBA, OSHA, Health Insurance
  • Develop a manpower plan for the school and justify proposed roles in line with the strategic plan to ensure optimal staff establishment. This should be done in liaison with the School Manager and Pedagogical Team Chair
  • Ensure the school attracts high performing staff, train, retain and motivate the acquired talent.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the entire process of performance management and ensure timely submission of reports and their analysis within set timelines
  • Enforce labour laws as constituted within the country and the school’s policies
  • Follow-up with department heads to ensure that human resource plans are being implemented and policies developed and adhered to.
  • Ensure clear interpretation of policies and procedures and ensure compliance by all staff
  • Any other duty that may be required by management

Human Resource Co-ordinator Job Qualifications

  • A Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant Business Degree
  • Post graduate diploma in Human Resource (IHRM)
  • Registered Member of Institute of Human Resource Management (HRM)
  • At least 5 years experience in a busy human resource department
  • Excellent skills in recruitment, compensation, knowledge of current labour laws
  • Working knowledge of HRMIS
  • Excellent Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • An excellent team player and organiser with the ability to interact with all cadre of staff
  • Ability to complete heavy workloads and work under pressure
