Our Client, a leading Tour and Travel Firm is looking for an aggressive, performance driven Transport/Dispatch Supervisor. The Job holder will effectively and efficiently coordinate Fleet & Drivers, allocate duties across the various safaris locations in order to provide customers with the best service possible.
Transport & Dispatch Supervisor Job Responsibilities
- Allocate Vehicles using Allocation/Safari List in the most efficient and economical way
- Supervise outsourced transport requirements & tracking
- Sourcing for transport suppliers when outsourcing need arises and check all the invoiced payments for approvals
- Monitoring vehicles on tracking system
- Monitoring transfers/safaris with our suppliers
- Supervise/Coordinate Fleet Maintenance, communicate with Fleet Workshop and track Workshop activities
- Scheduling safari vehicles and staff vehicles for repairs/servicing at the workshop and monitoring the progress.
- Raising L.P.Os for repairs, tires renewal, HF/VHF radio repairs, transport suppliers and safari water
- Monitoring fuel consumption for all vehicles by running reports on system
- Licensing-inspection for Tour service vehicle and governor certificate bookings
- Allocate drivers duties on day to day basis.
- Act as a communication liaison through the two-way radio system and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road
- Manage and monitor Drivers imprest and compile a driver’s monthly imprest report.
- Maintain Drivers Leave Tracker and Petty Cash requests
- Maintain/Monitor Transport Service Lines in System and inserting reps pickups in the tour plan
- Requesting for fuel cards from Supplier for safari vehicle and staff vehicles
- Providing monthly transport report
Requirements for the Transport & Dispatch Supervisor Job
- Degree/Diploma in Transport and logistics management
- Fleet Management 1 and 2 is added advantage.
- Excellent geographical knowledge.
- At least three years’ experience in the same position
- Good people management and coordination skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the transport and logistics.
