The main purpose for the job is to provide leadership to the Region by managing all the planning and co-ordination of activities and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all operations within the Region assigned.
Responsibilities for the Regional Team Leader Job
- Provide overall leadership in the region assigned
- Ensure organization’s policy, procedures, and business plans are clearly explained, understood and implemented within the Region
- Ensure compliance to management directives, internal policies and procedure manuals, regulatory provisions, and performance targets within their regions
- Set realistic targets and monitor performance management process, appraisals and evaluation for each Business Units within the Region.
- Carry out deposit mobilization activities and initiatives in the Region.
- Must also ensure portfolio quality is maintained through effective monitoring, evaluation and follow up on the Units under their jurisdiction
- Maintain close supervision of management and staff in the region assigned and utilize appropriate tools for generating feedback and performance measurement
- Establish and nurture productive relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders in the Region.
Ensure submission of accurate & timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the supervisor within the given deadlines. - Ensure cost effective implementation of business plans and all other activities as per the set out budgets for the Region.
- Determines and proposes areas of new business and coordinates establishment of business in those areas
- Support the implementation of an effective staff management process by ensuring it is in place and operational for their Region; recruitment, induction/orientation, training, performance management, discipline and growth and development.
- Promote a work culture that embraces hard work, and all core values of the company
- Advices the supervisor on matters related to credit operations and provide market intelligence information to guide in policy formulation and attain competitive advantage. Coordinate market surveys for new areas, potential markets and credit needs analysis within the Region.
- Responsible for product development
- Ensure adherence to effective checks and balances, procedures and clear audit trails within the Business Units and carry out other duties assigned by the Management from time to time
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time.
Regional Team Leader Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or its equivalent
- An MBA will be an added advantage
- Membership with KASNEB, KIM or any other professional body
- 4 years relevant experience
- Possess a demonstrated ability in strategy formulation and implementation
- Excellent public relations and communication skills
- Team player, strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to relay credit presentations to management,
- Effective negotiation skills,Ability to mentor younger, less experienced staff members
- Possess leadership skills and the ability to train.
