The Collaborative Centre for Gender and Development (CCGD) was established in 1996 by a small group of academics, researchers and development experts to build capacity in gender responsive planning, advocacy and programming, CCGD has grown into a dependable policy research and advocacy resource organization with program presence at county, national and regional levels. CCGD conducts gender responsive research to gather evidence for its advocacy against inequality and discrimination.

Communication Assistant

Details:

  • Help implement communications strategies
  • Draft and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, social media posts)
  • Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies
  • Update databases and media lists
  • Track projects and media exposure
  • Facilitate effective internal communications
  • Maintain calendars and appointments
  • Prepare presentations and reports

Requirement

  • Minimum BSc/BA in Communications,
  • English or a related field
  • Excellent command of English – related competence in Kiswahili and French is an added advantage
    Up to 2 Years’ experience implementing similar responsibilities, with proven track record of success
  • Knowledge of standard communication computer packages MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) and content management systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to compile reports and Solid editing and researching skills
  • Excellent communication abilities (oral and written)

Program Assistant

Details:

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth collaboration and communication with County Government and CSO partners
  • Support County teams to implement planned activities in accordance with the action plan
  • Support in procurement of goods and services as instructed
  • Organize workshops, events and meetings
  • Compile reports and minutes of meetings
  • Support to literature reviews and collection and analysis
  • Participate in training and capacity building
  • Support operationalization of Kenya Budgeting network
  • Any other duties you shall be assigned by the supervisor/ED/designate

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum BA Economics/commerce or related qualifications – specific training in the field of gender (mainstreaming) will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
