Are you ready to tackle one of the biggest challenges in the vaccine supply chain? According to a recent study conducted by the WHO and UNICEF, up to 75% of vaccines are at risk of freezing by the time they reach the last mile. Data is critical to making informed decisions that protect vaccines for women and children. Partnering with the Program Director, Ministries of Health (MOH), and other partners, you will lead initiatives across the U.S., Asia, and Africa to improve the vaccine cold chain with a user-centered approach.
To realize our vision of reaching all sub-county vaccine stores in Kenya to provide data visibility, you will manage a variety of projects using Nexleaf’s data analytics platform. Projects include the temperature monitoring project, leading data integration, and delivering a transition plan for full project ownership under the MOH. You will be working with countries to launch a global tool that we are developing to bring insights into cold chain equipment performance.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead All Aspects of Delivering Our Kenya Milestones
- Lead cold chain data integration into the Logistic Management Information System (LMIS).
- Iterate on dashboard and analytics design with Kenya and other countries to customize and improve these offerings based on their needs.
- Partner with Communications and Data teams to develop guides for our remote temperature monitoring (RTM) system, and Gavi’s Intelligent Maintenance and Planning Tool (IMPT).
- Own project level budgets to monitor grant spending and allocations.
- Coordinate logistics, shipment, and troubleshooting processes for hardware.
- Be an Advocate for Data
- Organize and attend data advocacy workshops for global countries and stakeholders.
- Co-develop Best Practices, including Data Sharing Agreement, with Kenya Ministry of Health.
- Conduct national data review meetings and regional data discussions in Kenya.
- Work with the Program Director to design and implement program evaluations to ensure we are constantly learning and improving on our approach.
- Champion Nexleaf’s Growth
- Represent Nexleaf’s impact across major programs, and cultivate new partnerships across countries.
- Lead trainings, workshops, and pilot Nexleaf’s technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to generate data-driven reports and white papers that motivate stakeholders to improve their impact and decision-making.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Public Health or Supply Chain Management (Masters preferred).
- At least 5 years of experience leading and managing projects independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and relationship building skills.
- Strong communication, public speaking, and writing skills
- Problem solver with the ability to overcome roadblocks in low-resource settings, using judgement, creativity, and resilience.
- Must be able to travel to field sites in Kenya, and other countries in Asia and Africa (up to 40%).
- Must be available for regular evening and occasional weekend calls (to support global time zones).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with IoT projects in the health sector.
- Experience managing teams (higher growth and remote environments preferred).
- Background working in smaller organizations with high levels of uncertainty and complexity
Benefits
This is a long-term contract role; compensation will factor in cost of benefits as they will not be directly covered.
