Accidents & Emergency Specialists at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital

Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is a leading National Referral Hospital with a 650 bed capacity and equipped with state-of-art medical amenities. The hospital is well equiped to offer Oncology, Trauma & Orthopedics, Renal among other services.

The Hospital is located along Northern Bypass Rd. near Kahawa West, Nairobi.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality and appropriate delivery of medical services in the A&E unit and advise the Head of Department on service delivery situations therein.
  • Practise the culture of team-base, fact-base and patient-base and work towards achievement of the Vision of KUTRRH in the A&E unit.
  • Practise specific best practice clinical and patient care related policies and procedures in the A&E unit of KUTRRH.
  • Attend to and diagnose the patients’ emergency medical needs within the unit as a way of collaborating with other medical staff and getting the right perspective of service delivery within the division.
  • Refer patients to appropriate specialized clinics and consultants within the hospital for further management of their medical condition.
  • Implement improvement actions to relevant medical staff in the A&E unit in order to improve quality of services delivered and for patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a recognized institution
  • Postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine from a recognized institution
  • Must have additional training in emergency care
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
  • Current retention certificate
  • Valid Practice License
  • Recognition as a specialist by the KMPDC
  • Professional Insurance Indemnity Cover
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • At least three years of working experience in Emergency Medical Practice in a reputable hospital
