Chief of Staff Job Responsibilities
- Liaising closely with the Governor to ensure the overall smooth running of the office;
- Managing the Governor’s and Deputy Governor’s diary;
- Providing guidance in implementing the Office of the Governor’s agenda;
- Protecting the interests of the Governor;
- Control access to the Office of the Governor and the Governor;
- Manage communications and information flow from the Office of the Governor;
- Assist the Governor implement his agenda;
Liaise with the Advisors/Personal Assistants to the Governor and the Deputy Governor in the implementation of their mandates; - Have oversight over the functions of the Governor’s Residence Comptroller as directed by the Governor;
- Proactively manage risks and issues and escalate to the Governor as required;
- Act as central contact point for all areas within the Office of the Governor;
- Coordinating the Governor’s contacts and visits in liaison with relevant departments; and
- Any other duties that may be allocated by the Governor and Deputy Governor.
Qualification for the Chief of Staff Job
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya.
- Possession of a Master’s Degree in Public Administration or Business Administration will be an added advantage.
- KCSE Grade C+ and above.
- Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than 10 years in administration and management.
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) on leadership and integrity.
- Be computer literate.
