Role Purpose Statement
Contribute to efficient airline security operations including customer and employees by gathering collating, analyzing and interpreting information in order to produce proactive security intelligence in support of security strategy. Investigate all security incidents and develop procedures and processes to avoid recurrences on the lapses and corporate fraud.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
  • Manage effective and efficient intelligence gathering network business wide.
  • Carry out collation of incoming information to support intelligence analysis and interpretation in a timely manner in order to ensure proactive response to security threats business wide.
  • Carry out an analysis and interpretation of collated information to produce actionable intelligence in support of security operations in response to security threats networkwide.
  • Carry out effective investigation of all security irregularities throughout the business to safeguard against negative impact of security lapses on the business.
  • Conduct internal investigation in all suspected criminal activities e.g. theft, losses and damage claims, INADS, ticket frauds, excess weight cheating, misuse of company property etc. and advice on corrective measures to maintain revenue integrity in accordance with staff rules and procedures/laws of Kenya.
  • Effectively contribute and participate in comprehensive, professional and timely security investigation reports to facilitate prompt corrective actions and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Prepare/brief witnesses for provision of evidence in the courts and/or HR panels.
  • Represent the company in courts as and when required.
  • Conduct general and forensic investigations processes in conformity to regulatory requirements and within specified time frame to ensure logical conclusion and the company is protected against law suits.
  • Liaise with other internal and external stakeholder and general intelligence and crime prevention agencies and create conducive environment to ensure that necessary information and assistance is received to avert any risks directed to Kenya Airways operations network-wide.
  • Assist in preparation and effective implementation of intelligence and investigations budget to ensure wastage is continuously eliminated in line with focused improvement best practice.
  • Develop, manage, and regularly update database of all information (collected, detected, reported cases) and successful interventions network-wide for discussion with Security Officer, Intelligence, Investigations and Forensics to ensure availability of case studies for quick reference and determination of update of the processes and procedures.
  • Collecting, safeguarding and producing exhibits before HR panels and/or retrieving from law enforcement agencies.
  • Analyzing evidence for proactive security decision.
  • Interview of witnesses/suspects and visiting scene of accidents and incidents.
  • Witness preparations before panel/court processes Review and analyze information Integrity data and generate necessary information for use during pre-employment and recurrent employee background checks to ensure that only people of unquestionable integrity are hired and retained in the company.
  • Compile weekly operational and incident reports and prepare divisional periodic reports including Board papers, Mission status reports and Operational Leadership Team (OLT) reports for management review and decision making.
  • Collate, analyze and maintain daily security operational performance and incident data for review of security division performance and update daily and monthly Security dashboard mission analysis.
  • Conduct general and specific analysis for proactive security decisions.
  • Blacklist lost and stolen tickets and MCOs and maintain their database to ensure revenue integrity.
  • Update and maintain pilferage and AVSEC incident database. v) Ensure compliance with company regulations and policies

  • University degree or relevant professional qualification

  • Organizational, planning and analytical skills including time management
  • IT proficiency

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to make sound evidence-based decisions

  • Knowledge of criminal procedure code, Evidence Act and the Penal Code
  • 3 year’s experience in security investigations in a reputable organization.
