National AIDS Control Council Provides policy and a Strategic framework for mobilizing and coordinating resources for the prevention of HIV transmission and provision of care and support to the infected and affected people in Kenya

1. Programme Officer (PLHIV Engagement)

 Reports to: Head, Stakeholders Coordination

Grade: NACC 4

Department: Coordination and Support

Business Purpose / Objective: Ensure effective and coordinated participation of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) Networks and Support Groups in the HIV response, both at National and County levels

Responsibilities:

1. Mobilization and facilitation of PLHIV effective participation in policy development, strategic planning and budgeting for the HIV response.

2. Enhance the application of the GIPA principles in the nationally and County level HIV response.

3. Support networking and institutional strengthening of organizations working with/supporting PLHIV.

4. Support capacity development and linkages between existing programmes for enhanced efficiency and responsiveness in meeting the needs of people living with HIV.

5. Facilitating forums that enhance partnerships, networking and linkages between and among networks of PLHIV and other stakeholders and development partners

6. Provision of necessary leadership and support in the development and design of the PLHIV’s programs in the HIV response guided by the KASF.

7. Organizing consultative and planning forums for PLHIV Networks and support groups Facilitating capacity needs assessments among PLHIV organizations and liaising with relevant units within NACC and its partners for necessary support;

8. Preparing reports to the Head – Stakeholder Coordination on progress in HIV and AIDS prevention and control in the sector;

9. Performing any other duties assigned by management.

Educational

Possess an advanced degree in Public health or Social sciences from a recognized institution or its equivalent.

Experience

Have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in multi-dimensional HIV prevention work in a multi-actor setting; three (3) years of which should be experience in working with PLHIV targeted interventions.

Business Purpose / Objective: This position entails development, implementation and review of the Kenya HIV Research Agenda to ensure effective translation of research into local policy and practice. Also entails provision of support in multi-sectoral coordination of research stakeholders in Kenya as well as dissemination of research products in local, regional and international conferences in alignment to the HIV strategic framework across all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate development and review of the HIV research agenda.

Business Purpose / Objective: The holder of this position will facilitate addressing of data modeling and related analytical needs of the HIV program in the country (both at National and County level) in line with KASF and the M&E Framework.

Responsibilities:

The holder will be expected to undertake the following broad roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop Annual Country and County HIV Estimates (and Sub-County as appropriate).
  • Provide technical guidance and support on priority data collection and surveys in fulfilment of M&E Framework requirements; and develop Surveillance System Methodologies as appropriate.
  • Provide data analytical support to the National Monitoring and Evaluation and the NACC in review of all relevant studies and surveys.
  • Regularly analyze data from various data sets, studies and surveys and develop reports to inform decision making and planning at various levels.
  • Build and strengthen capacity within NACC and the Country (both National and County level) to conduct data modeling in addressing the information requirements of KASF and the country’s M&E Framework.
  • To provide costed plans, and the associated funding proposals, on priority data modeling needs to facilitate resource mobilisation.

Education

  • Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in mathematical/statistical modelling Econometrics, biostatistics, medical statistics or any other closely related fields
  • In addition, the candidate will be expected to have studied/been trained in one or more of the common computing analytical tools such as SAS, STATA and R.

Experience

The holder of this position will be expected to have experience of at least five (5) years in statistical modeling, using common computing analytical tools such as SAS, STATA and R; and writing the related technical analytical reports to support decision making. Specific experience in modeling HIV and Health related data and writing the related technical analytical reports is required.

1. Senior Investment Officer

Reports to: General Manager, Investments

Purpose of the job: The Senior Investment Officer will oversee the investments in equities, fixed income and alternative assets that include property, private equity, direct investments; and participate in analyzing investment data and modelling investment ideas.

Purpose of the job: The Senior Legal and Compliance Officer will be responsible for providing Board secretarial service to the Board of Trustees and legal advisory services to the Fund. Providing technical and strategic leadership in the development and implementation of a robust legal and risk management framework aimed at ensuring security of pension funds, protection of the rights of members and beneficiaries, stakeholders and

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal input in the formulation of KPPF’s corporate strategy, including investment policies.
  • Oversee the articulation of the legal and board secretarial strategy, including a board engagement plan in line with the Fund’s overall strategy.

The Executive Personal Assistant shall be responsible for providing full Managerial, Administrative and Secretarial support at a senior level to the Director to ensure the smooth management of her day to day affairs, and most effective use of their time. Handle sensitive and complex issues in a professional and objective manner. Take initiative as appropriate especially in the Director’s absence.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Manage Director’s electronic diary, assessing priority of appointments and reallocation as necessary.
  • Manage Director’s travel arrangements (including visas / accommodation).
  • Process Director’s correspondence, ensuring that incoming correspondence is dealt with by the Director/or on behalf of the Director, or other staff as appropriate.
  • Maintain Director’s office systems, including data management and filing.
  • Maintain records of Director’s contacts.
  • Screen calls, enquiries and requests, and deal with them when appropriate.
  • Assist Director in researching and following up with action on matters which fall within the Director’s responsibility – chasing responses, triggering follow-up action.
  • Produce documents, briefing papers, Daily/weekly/monthly reports and presentations for the Director.
  • Produce basic financial reports for the Director as needed
  • Organize meetings and ensure that Director is well prepared for those meetings, preparing agendas, pre-meeting briefings and meeting papers.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Director.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience will be an added advantage
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to enable professional interaction
  • Ability to organize and plan own work.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Must be able to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills, including a working knowledge of presentation electronic diary management software packages, preferably Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

2. Project Manager

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing, planning, managing and tracking the progress of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreement.
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities under management advisory.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Communicate project status to project participants and stakeholders throughout the project to ensure critical components are not missed and risks are identified.
  • Lead and manage network of engineers, architects and other consultants in guiding each project through its governmental approvals process to obtain all permits/approvals required for a project.
  • Manage all aspects of the due diligence process including but not limited to feasibility studies, geotechnical evaluations, environmental assessments and surveys.
  • Manage all dates and processes within a project to ensure the project progresses as anticipated including but not limited to critical dates within development agreements, leases, purchase agreements, permitting and construction.
  • Manage design consultants in engineering a project within the parameters of the approved site plan, budget, Owner criteria and local codes.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager.

Skills & proficiencies:

  • Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field
  • Experience in MS-Office, contract negotiation and associated computer software skills
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the same field
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and deadline-oriented
  • Excellent decision making and leadership capabilities.
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills with excellent verbal and written ability

3. Finance Manager

The Finance Manager shall be responsible for the financial health of a company or organization. Producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research. Guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
  • Maintain the financial health of the organization.
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
  • Remittance of taxes on time.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Perform any other duties assigned by senior management.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

  1. To provide transport services for the CEO to and from assigned destinations in a safe, efficient and courteous manner, strictly adhering to road traffic rules.
  2. The individual will need to be extremely efficient in managing their time in an environment which is dynamic and liable to change at very short notice
  3. The individual should be able to think ahead and choose the best route for the journey, demonstrate initiative
  4. Ensuring extremely discreet and polite in all dealings with both internal and external contacts as a representative of the company. Demonstrate consistency in upholding and promoting the values of the company in actions and decisions, in line with the company Code of Conduct

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out daily maintenance checks on vehicles. Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy before starting on their journey including tyres, petrol, oil and lubricants.
  • Ensure the inside and outside of cars are clean all the time and decorate properly according to clients or passengers need, pack up all trash after use.
  • Drive the CEO  to meetings and functions in and around Nairobi and also up-country.
  • Provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Ensure vehicles are serviced at the stated mileage and all details documented in the Logbook.
  • Submit all purchase receipts to the Transportation in charge and ensuring that any mechanical faults are reported to the company.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions and travels involving the nature of the role, passengers and destinations
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the  passenger and vehicle in your care.
  • Accurately complete journey record sheets for all journeys in official vehicles

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

MUST:

  • A valid driving license class ABCE.
  • Excellent driving skills.
  • Be conversant with the 4WD manual vehicle.
  • Driver experience within a government or NGO or Corporate/Office environment
  • 5 years’ experience as an executive driver.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of local city roads, locations of government offices and main roads to other parts of the country.
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Professional appearance and punctuality.
  • Strong customer service, customer experience to make a timely and detailed response.
  • Ability to communicate in English, Swahili and foreign language will be an added advantage.
