Ministry of Health Job Vacancy : Satellite Lab Tech (50 Posts)

Reporting to their respective Satellite Laboratory Supervisors, the Sattellite Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for receiving biomedical samples at the satellite (peripheral county-based)  laboratory and conducting confirmatory and quality assurance HIV testing, blood processing and storage.

Laboratory Technologist Job Responsibilities

  • Receiving blood specimens from the field and validating documentation

Laboratory Technologist Job Responsibilities

  • Obtain informed consent, assent or parental/guardian permission from eligible members to conduct blood draws and required testing
  • Conduct phlebotomy (venous blood draw and capillary finger and infant heel stick blood draws), followed by all other survey testing procedures including rapid HIV testing, Hepatitis B, and syphilis testing
  • Label all collected blood samples, document all test results on a tablet and manual formats and package samples for storage and shipping
  • Ensure safe disposal of biohazard waste

Overall Job Function

Field Team Leader Medical Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Field Team members adhere to KENPHIA protocol and standard operating procedures
  • Manage work schedules for field team members and align with supply chain to ensure all necessary materials are available when needed for ground level survey implementation activities
  • Ensure that daily data collection activities run smoothly and all selected households and eligible members within an Enumeration Area have been properly interviewed and all required biomedical samples are collected, tested and appropriate referrals given

Compliance Manager Legal Job Responsibilities

Legal and Regulatory Compliance

  • Review industry rules and regulations, (CMA, RBA, CBK) circulars including practice notes and provide guidelines for operationalization in the business.
  • Review all contractual documents (Trustee Agreements, Custody Agreements, Trust Deeds, etc.) and Service Level Agreements with counterparties ( Brokers, Fund Managers, Administrators, CDSC) for completeness and ensure that the Bank’s interest is adequately covered and documents properly executed by the parties.
  • Continuously monitor changes in the regulatory framework and ensure that the Bank’s Custody and Trustee Services contractual documents, policies and procedures are up to date and comply with those changes/ reviews.
  • Review industry regulations for new products and provide guidelines for operationalization in the business.
  • Provide continuous training / engagement to the business team and other stakeholders on regulatory issues pertaining to the Custody & Trustee Services business
  • Maintain good business relationships with all industry regulators.

Operational Compliance

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with on-going licensee obligations, conduct obligations, record keeping and reporting obligations
  • Undertake compliance checks and make compliance reports to management. (Checks on Trustee Services, CDA Services, Custody Services, and Facility Agency).
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements (CMA, RBA & CBK) within the stipulated timelines.
  • Conduct surprise checks to monitor and ensure adequate operational control standards are in place
  • Drive the integration of the regulatory changes into the Unit’s operational procedures.
  • Confirm annual AML compliance documentation is received and reviewed.
  • Monitor the Unit’s Risk Register and KRI’s.
  • Review and confirm that all risks (Credit, Market, Legal and Operational risks) affecting the business have been identified, assessed, and controlled.
  • Monitor and ensure timely lodgment of applications for renewal of Custody and Trustee Services business licenses and payment of regulatory levies.
  • Review all complaints lodged by clients and counterparties and recommend action to address the weaknesses in the internal systems that led to the action causing the complaint.
  • Ensure adequate and relevant business continuity plans are maintained and tested regularly.

Qualifications for the Compliance Manager Legal Job

  • University Degree preferably in Law or in a Business related field from a Recognized institution.
  • Professional qualification in ACCA / CPA (K) / CPS (K) / AKIB or MBA is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry with strong biases towards Capital Markets / Retirement Benefits Sector / Trustee Services & Facility Agency Services

SHOFCO Job Vacancy : Community Health Worker

Location: Mathare, Nairobi

Reports to: Health Services and Program Officer

Hours: Mon- Fri, 7:30am to 3:30pm, 2 Saturdays a month

Main Purpose of the Job

The primary duty of the SHOFCO Community Health Workers is following up on selected patients in their homes to ensure treatment adherence and recovery and report to any complications to physicians.

CHWs are also responsible for clinical outreach and active case finding, conduct relevant health talks/topics will be scheduled by the CHW Supervisor and performed by the CHWs in the clinic and throughout the community.

Community Health Worker Job Responsibilities

  • Advice the community members on health matters and accessible health services available at the facility.
  • Conduct community mobilization and create awareness on services available at the facility.
  • Identify clients with health needs and refer to the facility, accompanying them where necessary
  • Conduct community screening services for people in need of treatment, special services like nutrition, ANC, family planning, gender violence issues, cervical cancer screening and immunization and refer appropriately.
  • Provide health preventive and promotive messages to the community
  • Identify the particular healthcare needs of a community and make referrals appropriately
  • Sensitize the community on health risks , nutrition, immediate management of accidents and first aid
  • Act as a link between the community and the health facility
  • Follow up of very terminally sick clients i.e. CCC, diabetics, hypertensives etc. and support appropriately.
  • Conduct home visits to clients with special needs to assess progress and adherence

  • Advice clients or community groups on issues related to social or intellectual development such as education, childcare or problem solving.
  • Trace clients who miss appointments and defaulters for those on nutrition, ANC, PMTCT, Postnatal and CCC follow up.
  • Accompany very ill clients from the community to the facility and also referred clients where relatives are not available or are not reliable
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the manager/team leader
