 Health Care Underwriting

  • Maintain clients by providing good customer service
  • Appraise, review, validate and process Healthcare renewals/applications and new business and invoice the client in a timely manner.
  • Respond to client inquiries timely and consistently within established time frame.
  • Analyze healthcare Clients by comparing current numbers with prior years and propose ways to increase customer growth
  • Coordinate renewal activity, and deliverables
  • Collect premiums as per company policy.
  • Identify cross selling and organic growth opportunities within the company clients
  • Initiate and coordinate quarterly business review (QBR) meetings for the named accounts. Prepare report cards and any other necessary documentation for these QBR meetings.
  • Collection of market intelligence, information on local competition, products and levels of service.
  • To perform any other duty as assigned to them in line with the organization goals and objective

Position Summary

The Visa Innovation & Design group in CEMEA hosts and co-creates with a wide range of guests including Banks/Financial Institutions, Merchants, Technology Providers, the Fintech and Startup community. Operating out of the Dubai Innovation Center, Moscow Studio and the soon-to-be-launched Nairobi Innovation Studio, the team acts as the “front of shop” for Visa innovation engagements.

The Nairobi Studio serves the needs of the large, fast-paced and strategically important Sub Saharan Africa market. It advocates Visa’s innovation vision and priorities, understand clients and partners’ needs and supports them in their innovation journey.

The ideal candidate brings a deep passion for technology and payments, a futurist view, the ability to understand and capture trends in their respective industries and a broad understanding of (or aptitude for) Visa’s capabilities and assets. They bring excellent presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to run high-impact client sessions.  They also bring a strong operational background and interest, including project management, pipeline management, management reporting, event management and contracts. Experience in having run innovation centers, agile sprints and innovation consulting teams is a huge plus.

The individual will also work with internal stakeholders to conceptualize and support the go-to-market of new solutions for the Sub Saharan African market.

The individual will lead the Nairobi Studio team and serve a leadership role in engagements with senior/executive level clients, across the various engagements types (from 30 minute demonstrations to multi-week co-creations).

The individual will also be business’s key point of contact for requesting the Nairobi Studio’s services, and will own the team and Studio’s project pipeline. This will also involve reporting the team and Studio’s updates and projects to global and regional teams.

He/she will work with minimal guidance in a fast paced, ambiguous work environment, and will have the ability to independently translate high level guidance into detailed deliverables. He/she will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and executive presence.

Job Summary

A key member of the Innovation & Design Leadership Team for CEMEA and reporting directly to the Head of Innovation for CEMEA and SSA Head of Products, the Nairobi Studio Leader is the face of the Innovation of Visa in Sub Saharan Africa. The individual will be a key point of contact for clients, visitors, internal stakeholders who want to engage the Innovation & Design team’s services.  The individual will also run engagements with C-suite clients and partners, and play a key role in running the studio’s operations and P&L management.

Reporting directly to the CEMEA Head of Innovation and SSA Head of Products, this individual is a key member of the regional Innovation team serving 92 countries. A key ‘face of the Studio’ for C-suite clients, partners and internal stakeholders, the individual also helps define and execute the operations of the Studio. This individual also reports to the SSA Head of Products and is a key partner in local solution development.

INNOVATION PIPELINE & REVENUE MANAGEMENT

  • Deliver against value-in-kind revenue targets, established in partnership with the Sub Saharan Africa leadership and CEMEA Innovation Leader
  • Run the studio pipeline, engagement intake, and value-in-kind contract management: Serve as the key point of contact for the business to request Innovation & Design team projects and all Innovation Studio events
  • ­Establish a clear point of contact and intake process for anyone requesting Innovation & Design services
  • ­Work closely with the regional Innovation & Design lead to establish a pipeline strategy & operating model
  • ­Educate internal stakeholders on the Studio offerings and intake process

  • Proactively build and curate content on emerging innovation themes to present to in the studio and various other client forums
  • ­Build client engagement content (e.g. use case of a new technology in payment), based on desk research and interviews with Visa’s experts, and engagement material across various media formats (e.g., presentation, talking points, demos, videos)
  • Actively evangelize Visa’s innovation vision and priorities within the organization and at key community and industry events
  • Educate Visa teams on latest innovations and Visa solutions through memos, frequent brown bags and other ways to engage staff
  • Build a vision for how to showcase innovative experiences in the Nairobi Studio. Lead innovation immersions with clients in the studio, to showcase the latest (and upcoming) applications of technology in payments. They will also play a key part in refreshing and articulating the Studio’s tour narrative.

Qualifications

  •  Approximately 13-20 years commercial experience with at least 8 years in a strategy/innovation consulting or advisory roles
  • Proven capabilities in leading design thinking/co-creation engagements with virtual teams that include Managers and Executives at senior levels – communication, presence, thought leadership and gravitas
  • Proven experience in managing large & diverse teams; ideally experience managing creative teams of designers and developers
  • Substantial client facing experience with the ability to translate client and partner needs into meaningful problem statements, engagements and tangible collaboration/prototyping outcomes
  • Experience running customer experience centers focused on helping clients solve real business issues
  • Outstanding facilitation skills, ideally with formal training and sprint management experience
  • Strong project/program management skills to successfully manage multiple, concurrent work streams

Summary Of The Position

In coordination with the Chief of Party, the M&E Director will design the project’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Plan. S/he will be responsible for the development and day-to-day supervision of an M&E system to track project performance framework, indicators, and targets to measure progress toward project objectives and expected results. The M&E Director will ensure quality routine data collection, data entry, data analysis, and timely reporting, under the project Performance Measurement Plan. S/he will oversee routine data quality assurance exercises and participate as needed in M&E supervisory visits with Ministry staff, with the focus on improving monitoring systems, data quality, and data use at project sites. Coordinating closely with project staff, partners, and other key stakeholders, the M&E Director oversees the analysis, interpretation, and tracking of all program data, as well as documents and disseminates lessons learned, best practices, and other project deliverables.

The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will report to the Chief of Party.

Actual hiring is contingent upon successful activity award and USAID approval.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in the development and updating of the project’s MEL plan
  • Lead day-to-day implementation of all M&E related activities under the project MEL Plan
  • Contribute to the development of quantitative and qualitative tools and implementation of robust context-appropriate systems for data collection, quality assurance, analysis, and reporting on activity outputs/outcomes and program quality
  • Conduct data collection, entry, verification, analysis, and reporting on actual achievements against set targets, highlighting emerging patterns and offering clear reports on findings and conclusions
  • Operationalize a project collaborative learning and adapting (CLA) approach by leading its implementation as per the MEL plan
  • Provide support for the recruitment of consultants and temporary field staff for M&E related activities
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security standards and procedures are in place and are aligned with country national monitoring and evaluation guidelines, protocols, information, and reporting systems
  • Conduct analyses and contribute to the preparation of required periodic project reporting by capturing performance results and ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into project implementation to continuously improve quality of interventions and outcomes
  • Monitor implementation of learning agenda for identification of best practices and lessons learned and for adaptive management
  • Provide data use training, mentoring, and coaching to Ministry staff, as requested
  • Engage with partners and local stakeholders to monitor the progress and success of activities
  • Design a reporting system that ensures data flow and utilization and provides insights on activity performance and areas, contributing towards strategic decision-making and project planning with project leadership
  • Work closely with project leadership, including partners and local stakeholders, to develop, implement, and monitor the implementation of a robust learning agenda for continuous learning, collaboration, and adaptation to further the project’s learning agenda
  • Participate in relevant M&E technical working groups and coordinating bodies; work with relevant county MOH staff on project-linked M&E as appropriate
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of information and knowledge products with all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Contribute to annual workplan preparation in the design of M&E activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, public health, demography, epidemiology, social science, mathematics, economics, or relevant discipline
  • Significant study in the health field, international development and/or program monitoring and evaluation preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development projects implemented by national/international NGOs, preferably in health
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating monitoring of health systems in Kenya preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of and expertise in USAID funded monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) plans and reporting preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and production of reports
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing data using statistical software
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must have demonstrated mentoring and facilitation skills and the ability to network and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Support Contract Management for Reconciliation, KPI & other matters.
  • Support FNI and feature testing as required
  • Support LCM for Transmission domain in the OPCO
  • Work with the central design, optimization and program management teams in matters of BoQ review, KPI Review and Governance
  • Ensure optimum performance of the newly integrated links and expansions via the set acceptance process

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Education:  Academic degree, minimum on bachelor level, in engineering (IT, Telecom)
  • 6+ years’ experience of deploy system test and lead testing team.
  • If you have ISEB/ISTQB software testing qualifications that would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of local OHS statutory regulations and group OHS requirements
  • Good Communication skills

The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of Senior Internal Auditor at Nairobi Head Office.

The successful candidate will report to the Group Internal Auditor and be charged with the following responsibilities:

  • Plan and supervise internal audit assignments.
  • Coordinate implementation of the Group’s EnterpriseRiskManagement Framework.
  • Advise management on internal control and risk management issues.
  • Ensure standardization of Group policies and procedures across business units.
  • Conduct follow up reviews to monitor implementation of audit recommendations
  • Implement and continuously appraise the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of financial statements.
  • Provide support in the management of statutory audits.
  • Perform any other task that may be assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Fully qualified CPA(K)or ACCA.
  • Upper Second-Class degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CISACIA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 6 years combined experience in providing external and internal audit assurance services in a reputable organisation.
  • Experience in the implementation or review of an ERM framework or a Quality Management System will be an added advantage.
