Our Client, a medium-sized deposit-taking Sacco, wishes to recruit a suitably qualified person for the position of Assistant ICT Manager. Reporting to the ICT Manager the individual shall have the following duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Set up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use when required
  • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Give support to users
  • Perform checks to ensure that WAN and LAN connectivity is maintained at all times
  • Maintain an up‐to‐date inventory of ICT software and licenses
  • Support the implementation of MIS solutions as required.
  • Assisting the ICT Manager in ensuring adequate controls for the security of information.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans for computer and communications equipment and network infrastructure in liaison with the ICT Manager.
  • Participating in developing and managing business continuity plans and data security for the entire organization.
  • Adhering to the ICT policy and suggesting changes in line with best practice.
  • Any other duties as delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Relevant ICT experience of not less than 3 years in the financial services industry, preferably in a Sacco society.

Minimum working experience with the following:

  • Microsoft Dynamics Nav for Saccos with agency banking functionality
  • Databases (SQL server)
  • Security applications
  • Management of various ICT systems in the Sacco industry

  • Identify and recommend market research Programme aimed at enhancing brand positioning.
  • Analyzing market research data including secondary research and taking corrective action for enhancement of brand strategies.
  • Effective management of brand advertising and sales promotion to generate brand growth.
  • Recommending, planning & co-coordinating brand PR activities likely to enhance the brand sales and image in the short or long term.
  • Monitor competitor activities affecting the brand and take appropriate corrective action
  • Monitor, evaluate and recommend brand-packaging update including pack and range extensions, new product  development and follow through to implementation in liaison with Marketing Manager.
  • Regular and continuous monitoring of brand costs and profitability and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly brand expenditure and variance report to control budgeted expenditure.
  • Plan and implement brand media strategy.
  • Market intelligence through regular trade visits and utilizing this to enhance brand activities.
  • Design, procurement and economic distribution of brand promotional materials to plan.
  • Interaction with Area sales managers to give updates on implementation of Brand strategic plans.
  • Full supervision and of external agencies execution and continuous review sessions as aligned with the marketing manger

Key Qualifications & Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM)
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in Brand Management and in the FMCG industry, 2 of which should have been at the management level

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is an agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.

The Food Security Cluster/Sector Coordinator (CC) is one of the core Food Security Cluster (FSC) Coordination team members and plays a vital role in ensuring timely, coherent and effective food security interventions by mobilizing stakeholders to respond in a coordinated and strategic manner to a humanitarian crisis.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in food security, agriculture, economics, humanitarian affairs or related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian response at a mid or senior level. Experience in food security related topics is mandatory and experience in the FSC is desirable;
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) and lead the process for the FSC through identification of needs, severity, geographical scope, and Persons in Need, with the support of the IMO and in consultation with the cluster partners;
  • Undertake planning and strategy development by contributing to the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) and lead the process for the FSC through coordinating the design of the response strategy and logframe, in consultation with the cluster partners;
  • Lead the review of FSC partners projects submitted on the HPC online system, based on the agreed inclusion criteria (where relevant);
  • Establish and maintain appropriate humanitarian coordination mechanisms:  ensure inclusion of key partners at national and sub-national level, organize regular cluster meetings, as required;
  • Facilitate / lead needs assessment & analysis, support in conducting surveys such as EFSA /CFSAM/SMART, secondary data review, and dissemination of available information (inventory / repository) to partners;
  • Ensure that available information is analysed in a coordinated manner and utilised for decision-making at different levels (e.g. Integrated Phase Classification (IPC) or Cadre Harmonisé (CH) – country specific);
  • Ensure mainstreaming of cross-cutting and cross-sectoral issues (e.g. gender, age, HIV and AIDS, human rights, disability, environment, early recovery, protection, nutrition) and appropriate participatory and community-based approaches in cluster/inter-cluster needs assessments, analysis, planning, implementation and monitoring;
  • Ensure the use and application of common standards (e.g. SPHERE standards and CHS), and harmonization of programmatic responses (SOPs on modality of delivery, Minimum Expenditure Basket, minimum assistance package);
  • Contribute to country level contingency planning and coordinate cluster/sector-wide emergency preparedness and response;
  • Ensure the development of regular food security reports (Sitreps, Bulletins, newsletters, etc.);
  • Participate in various coordination forums including Inter-cluster, technical working groups (e.g. Cash WG) and other relevant clusters, especially Nutrition, WASH, Health, and Protection;

Role Purpose

Under the supervision of the Protection and Social Cohesion Manager, the Senior Child protection and Safeguarding Officer, will have an active role in ensuring the timely and successful implementation and monitoring of the Child Protection and safeguarding interventions and support the mainstreaming of protection & safeguarding policies and procedures in the delivery of all our programs, and will ensure proper support and supervision provided to the child protection and safeguarding staff.

The incumbent will report directly to Protection and Social Cohesion Manager or his/her designate.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure timely implementation of all the child protection & Safeguarding interventions in the Area program
  • Support in the annual, quarterly and monthly project planning and budgeting for child protection, safeguarding project activities.
  • Ensure documentation of the Child protection &Safeguarding intervention best practices, gaps and impacts
  • Support in ensuring that weekly Project updates, Monthly and Quarterly Project Reports are developed and submitted on time
  • Organize for and facilitate quarterly child protection and safeguarding reflection and learning forums for child protection and safeguarding staff within the Area Program
  • Ensure that feedback, findings and recommendations related to child protection and safeguarding activities from various accountability mechanisms such as monthly and quarterly program reviews, Program evaluations are acted upon in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensure alignment of all child protection &Safeguarding activities and other area program activities with the stipulated safeguarding policy.
  • Develop and coordinate periodic training for all staff, child safeguarding workers, interns on Child Safeguarding.
  • Develop child protection & safeguarding orientation materials for staff, new hires and visitors
  • Oversee the development and roll-out of child-friendly, and parent-friendly, materials for staff and communities to use to be informed and empowered on safeguarding issues (i.e. Poster or leaflets on behavior protocols)
  • Jointly with MEAL team, ensure that accessible, gender, age and literacy sensitive complaints and response mechanisms are in all areas where LWF works. Ensure communities awareness raising on their rights and reporting options in line with the Accountability Framework.
  • Influence, network and collaborate with sub county level government, NGOs, donor agencies, UN Agencies, , Working Groups, and other child protection and safeguarding peers

Academic and professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in community development work implementing child protection and safeguarding programs
  • Degree in Child Development, Sociology, Community Development / Development studies, or other related degrees from a recognized institution.
  • A Masters in Child Protection, Community Development, social studies or other related masters from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
  • Computer proficiency
  • Work experience in humanitarian context
  • Ability to document good practice and lessons learned in Child Protection Programming.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Experience in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting
  • Good understanding of CRC and other relevant international human rights standards protecting the rights of children.
  • Experience in engagements with government departments as well as networking and collaborating with other non-government stakeholders including community structures at community level.
