Cezam And Associates Ltd Job Vacancy : Finance Manager

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Thika is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager the successful candidates MUST have prior experience in an FMCG, manufacturing, or retail industry.

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager will be responsible for corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as implementing the financial policies of the company.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Advise the CEO and MD on the financial implications of business/project activities.
  • Actively managing the company cash flow on a daily basis, generate relevant projections and weekly forecasting, and manage the capital needs and budgeting process.
  • Determine utilization, revenue, profitability per billboard face, and develop pacing reports.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial statements; and communicating the analyses to the CEO and MD on a regular basis.
  • Prepare terms of reference and overseeing the consultancy in the field of the financial advisory firms to be engaged by the company.

Finance Manager Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and present to the management team timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local and government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Assist the Operations Director in preparing the annual corporate budgets

Qualifications for the Finance Manager Job

  • Must have a financial management undergraduate qualification.
  • Must have a CPA-K / ACCA with at least 5 years at senior finance position.
  • Must have experience in dealing with cost management and optimization.
  • Must have an appreciation of commercial negotiations.
  • Experience with initiating and leading improvement programmes, strategic plans and overseeing change.
  • Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
  • Experience in or a good understanding of the manufacturing and retail distribution industry.
  • Must have strong treasury and cash management background.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Must have an impeccable integrity and diligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
