Job Title: Events Coordinator
Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and facilitating events that align with the business’s strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate must be hands on and skilled at handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The position will require someone capable of working independently.
Duties and responsibilities
- Coming up with a monthly events calendar.
- Preparation of the departments KPIs and other reports as may be required
- Creating a simple and viable customer follow-up system and monitor progress
- Prepare a weekly report of the events for the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure invoices are settled on time as per the terms of the contract.
- Coordinate and manage the walk in customers.
- Propose ideas, and formulate key strategies for successful events.
- To identify and book locations for the events, liaise with location management for booking, catering and logistical arrangements
- Timely production and circulation of flyers and other information relating to event publicity, such as other organizations’ websites, appropriate mailing lists and the media
- Contribute actively to decisions on marketing events; compiling databases of likely interest, drafting and circulating emails and telephoning individuals.
- Manage the event on the day, including setting up, instructing external contractors and internal staff assistance
- Any other duty called upon to serve from time to time.
- Participate in all the home activities as may be called upon to.
- Through the Setup Supervisor, ensure quality delivery of services to the customers and ensure that budgets are maintained
- Through the Bakery Supervisor, ensure that the operation procedures and budgets are followed as stipulated and quality of the products is maintained.
- Through the Posho mill Supervisor ensures that the operation procedures and budgets are well maintained and followed.
- Through the support staff within the tins section, ensure that the tins collection schedule is followed accordingly and new placements are sought.
- Be a team player. Maintain good staff relations
Skills & Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates who have at least one year experience in event management and coordination.
- Must be between the ages of 22 and 30 years;
- Must be experienced in using social media and other varied communications channels for the purpose of promoting events.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills with proficiency in English;
- Must be a team player with the ability to work with others to achieve high goals in a fast paced and high pressured environment;
- Must be a self-starter with ambition who can work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Must possess good negotiation skills, presentation, leadership and an innovative mind.
- Possess at least a Diploma in Marketing / Communication / Public Relations / Events Management / Business Management or Social sciences. Degree will be an added advantage.
