Senior HR & Administration Officer at Afribusiness LLP

Our client is a Retail and Distribution company established in 2014 and specializing in FMCG. . Our client seeks to engage a Senior Human Resource & Admin Officer to put in place sound human resource and administration systems and activities aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the work performance of the company as a whole and also manage employee relations effectively.

The Position:

Reporting to the Administration Director, the Senior HR & Admin Officer will oversee all day to day HR and Administration activities of the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing modern Human Resource management strategies and comprehensive action plans.
  • Handles administration of staff contracts and translation of terms of service.
  • Develop and implement effective employee relations strategies
  • Management of the staff medical scheme.
  • Management of all staff leave in the Company.
  • Advising on disciplinary cases arising
  • Enforcement of the company policies and procedures.
  • Handling employee complaints.
  • Participate in payroll preparation and review.
  • Reporting on statutory deductions.
  • Ensuring legal compliance on Bowip’s HR Policies.
  • Drafting of press adverts related to recruitment of staff.
  • Participation in the recruitment and selection and placement process of staff this includes, short-listing and arranging for interviews.
  • Preparation of Board papers on staff matters related to terms and conditions of service.
  • Participation in training of staff as a trainer.
  • Participation in the preparation of annual budget for staff salaries and wages.
  • Maintain updated staff records
  • Supervise administrative activities being undertaken in the company
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A BSc degree in Human Resource Management or BSc Social Sciences or business Administration with HR Diploma
  • Member of IHRM
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Human Resource
