Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable

Grade: KFCB 6

Job Purpose: Responsible for compiling and preparing budget estimates.

Responsibilities

  1. Controlling expenditure commitments in the Board;
  2. Evaluating and scrutinizing expenditure proposals;
  3. Monitoring commitments on expenditures for recurrent, development and donor funds;
  4. Compiling information required in the budgetary process;
  5. Processing medium term expenditure and revised estimates budget;
  6. Compiling and formatting financial estimates;
  7. Participating in preparation of budget estimates;
  8. Taking initial action on budget monitoring; and
  9. Preparing reports and briefs on budgetary allocations.
  10. Preparing draft budgets from units
  11. Preparing financial variance reports
  12. Committing LSOs and LPOs as per set budgetary limits

Specifications/Requirements for Appointment;

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Commerce (Accounting/ Finance option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  2. Part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  3. Proficiency in Computer applications
