In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Reporting to the Digital Engineering Manager for Apps and portals within Digital Engineering (DE), the product designer will be responsible for working with other stake holders such as the product owner and data scientist to provide great user experience to our users across various digital channels.

Product Designer Responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product owners, engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis and, interpret data and qualitative feedback
  • Determine information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Facilitate the Safaricom’s product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
  • Portfolio of UX design projects showcasing your process and project achievements.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision, Balsamiq, Zeplin, Framer, and the like is a must.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and other stakeholders.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders.
  • Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
  • Experience in illustration and/or animation will be an added advantage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Search for Quality Candidates

  • Based on labour market and recruitment trends, advise managers on best sourcing strategies for respective roles in order to attract quality candidates
  • Improving inbound leads from better posting by using attractive language, clear JD and utilization of best sourcing strategies in order to access quality candidates
  • Active outbound leads through scouring LinkedIn, other such databases, partnerships with local and international universities and institutions for good matches for defined and undefined roles

Attract Quality Candidates

  • Sell the candidates on the organization, culture, and role through initial calls/meetings so they remain engaged throughout the screening process
  • Sell to potential candidates the perks that come with working with the organization
  • As the first point of contact, shape the recruitment experience for all potential hires in order to enhance our employer brand rating

Screen for Quality Candidates

  • Co-develop and implement with hiring managers rigorous screening criteria/framework through written exercises and multiple interviews to develop a shortlist of top 5 candidates
  • Periodically revise screening criteria/framework to ensure they remain up to date
  • Promote candidate engagement by ensuring continuous communication with candidates throughout the interview process

Select Quality Candidates

  • In liaison with the interviewing panel, evaluate individual candidate performance to determine the best hire
  • Sell the selected candidate on the offer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related course
  • 3+ years hands on experience in identifying and hiring quality candidates in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge in various sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites such as LinkedIn
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment

The creation of UN Women came about as part of the UN reform agenda, bringing together resources and mandates for greater impact. It merges and builds on the important work of four previously distinct parts of the UN system, which focused exclusively on gender equality and women’s empowerment:

Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Provide reliable and secure driving services

  • Drive office vehicles for the transport of WEE staff  and UN Women  Country Representative, other high-ranking officials, visitors, UN Women program and operations staff, and facilitate VIP missions;
  • Deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items to Government – Offices/Embassies/Commercial Establishments/ UN Offices;
  • Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangements when required;
  • Verify that all passengers wear seatbelts at all times in the vehicle;
  • Oversee and ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents;
  • Oversee and ensure that all vehicles comply with the Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS).

?2.  Proper use of the vehicle

  • Ensure cost-saving by driving responsibly;
  • Maintain daily vehicle logs, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil change, servicing, greasing, repairs and oversee that other drives do the same;
  • Prepare and maintain data of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.

 3.  Day to day maintenance of the assigned vehicle

  • Ensure that all official vehicles are kept clean and are always in good working condition;
  • Make minor repairs and make arrangements for major repairs;
  • Change oil, check tires, lights, horn, clutch, and brakes, and wash the car regularly;
  • Ensure that vehicles comply with the Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS).

4.   Maintain and ensure availability of all required documents/supplies

  • Maintain and ensure availability of all required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle;
  • Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.

5.  Provide general administrative and logistic support as needed

  • Assist office staff in filing, photocopying and maintaining required records;
  • Assist in the mailing and distribution of publications and payments of bills, as required.
