Associate – IT Risk Assurance at PwC

Work as part of a team in execution of work ensuring that team objectives are met in helping clients solve their business issues and adding value to our clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role ​

  • Develop competencies in at least 2 RAS offerings (e.g. Data Analytics, Quality Assurance, IT General Controls reviews etc.).
  • Use appropriate PwC approved methodologies and audit guide in execution of work.
  • Proactively seek guidance and coaching on new areas or areas requiring clarity.
  • Comprehensive documentation for work performed showing clear appreciation of client processes and PwC methodology.
  • Discuss findings from areas assigned on engagements with senior members of the team on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of draft reports (either in full for small engagements or in part) properly articulating the 5Cs i.e.cCriteria, concern, consequence (impact/risk), root cause and corrective action (recommendations).
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned areas within budgeted hours.
  • Agree objectives/expectations with your reviewer (Senior and/or Engagement Manager) prior to execution of the audit, and ensure evidence of the sharing of objectives is retained.
  • Raise performance feedback within 14 days of completing your assignment on the engagement.
  • Fill weekly timesheets.
  • Be complaint with all Risk and Quality matters (e.g. ensure all team members confirm independence).
  • Attend all mandatory classroom training sessions and e-learns.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Specific skill requirements for the role

  • Professional ethics: Ability to maintain confidentiality, objectivity on all assignments in line with PwC codes of ethics.
  • Excellent organisational skills, having the ability to prioritise work load whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to receive, understand and respond to communications verbally and writing to all levels in organizations.
  • Language skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Fluent in English but multilingual Swahili speaker preferable.
  • The willingness to learn and receive coaching from more experienced team members
  • The ability and willingness to travel within the Country and Africa where the project dictates.

Education.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information System, Data analytics, Data Science ((Second Class Honors and above)
  • Candidates with either of the following qualifications: CISA, CISM, ITIL and CCNA will have an added advantage.

Minimum years experience required

  • Experience in IT audit, IT general controls review, application controls review and data analytics
