- instituting legal proceedings in cases of contraventions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Work Injury Benefits Act;
- monitoring, evaluating and controlling of environmental hazards in the workplaces;
- processing of application for registration of work places and employers under Occupational Safety and Health Act and Work Injury Benefits Act respectively and processing of work injury benefits claims;
