1. Registered Clinical Officers II
Job Summary
For appointment to this grade, an officer
must have:-
- Academic Qualification: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade C, with at least C in Biology,
- English or Kiswahili and a C- in any other science subjects;
- Professional Qualifications: Have successfully completed at least three (3) years pre-service training at a Medical Training College or any other recognized Medical Training Institution and have been awarded a Diploma in Clinical Medicine/ Surgery or its equivalent; and with one year’s internship in a recognized hospital. And
- Have been registered by the Clinical Officers Council.
Responsibilities
- Involve seeing and examining patients,
- Diagnosing and treating patients’ ailments at an Outpatient/Inpatient department in a hospital, health Centre or Dispensary under supervision of senior Clinicians.
- Assist in planning and conducting Community Health Care activities;
- Engaged on routine Client/patients’ care and giving support and health education to patients/Clients
2. Medical Officers
Job Summary
For appointment to this grade, an officermust have:-
- Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(M.B;Ch.B) degree from a recognized institutionrecognized by Medical Practitioners and DentistBoard.
- Successfully completed one year (1) internshipfrom a recognized institution
- Registration license from the Medical Practitioners Board.
- Computer knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Entail diagnosing, Caring and treating diseasesperforming medical and surgical procedures,
- Preparing and responding to emergenciesand disasters,
- Participating in management of medicinesmedical instruments and equipment,
- Providing health education,
- Maintaining medical records and preparingrequisite documents for registration.
3. Clinical Officers
Job Summary
For appointment to this grade, an officermust have:-
BSc. in Clinical Medicine and Community Healthor Degree in any other health related field from arecognized institution will enter at this grade.In addition to the above requirements, an officermust have the following key personal attributesand core competences:-

- Ability to take instructions
- Good organizational and supervisory skills
Responsibilities
- Management of clinical services in hospitals orhealth centers.
- The officer may also be deployed to takecharge of a health centre where work will entailattending to patients,
- Supervising clinical services and carrying outCommunity health care activities of the catchment areas and also secretary to HealthCommittees.
- Include practical training, counseling andguiding clinical students attached to thehospital/health centre;
- Participating in curriculum development ofclinical training, implementation andevaluation, recruitment and orientation ofstudents on clinical practice and maintenance oftheir records.
4. Assistant Public Health Officer I
Job Summary
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental Health orPublic Health from a recognized institution
- Certificate of competence from the association of Public Health officers
- Computer knowledge.
Responsibilities
- An officer at this level will provide Environmental Health Extension services in thearea of deployment where specifics duties andresponsibilities will include identifyingenvironmental health issues at community level,
- Compiling and maintaining up to daterecords of services rendered assessing healthneeds of the community,iii) Implementing sanitization and hygienestandards in the community.
5. Assistant Public Health Officer III
Job Summary
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
- Diploma in either Environmental Health Science or Public Health Inspection from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificate issued by the public officers body
- Computer knowledge
Responsibilities
- Mobilizing sensitizing and advising communities on matters related to environmental health referring health cases to relevant health facilities carrying out immunizations,
- Identifying environmental health issues at community level,
- Organizing community health days to advise communities on common public health issues,
- Collecting and maintaining up to date records of services rendered.
6. Registered Clinical Officers Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT Specialist)
Job Summary
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines Clinical Medicine and Surgery Clinical Medicine and Community Health or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must have Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers Council.
- Valid practicing License
Responsibilities
- Offering specialized clinical services including Ear, Nose and Throat Management of clinical services in hospitals or health centers.
- The officer may also be deployed to take charge of a health center where work will entail attending to patients, supervising clinical services and carrying out Community health care activities of the catchment areas and also secretary to Health Committees
7. Registered Nurses
Job Summary
For appointment to this grade, an officermust have:–
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines:Kenya Registered CommunityHealth Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery,Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or KenyaRegistered Nursing/MentalHealth and Psychiatry from a recognizedinstitution;
- Registration Certificate issued by the NursingCouncil of Kenya;
- Valid practising license from Nursing Councilof Kenya
- Computer knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assessing, planning, implementing nursinginterventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes;
- Providing appropriate healthcare serviceincluding Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT,
- Ante-natal care and delivery, providinghealth education and counselling topatients/clients and community on identifiedhealth needs;
- Referring patients and clientsappropriately, facilitating patients’ admissionand initiating discharge plans;
- Maintaining records on patients/clients healthcondition and care, ensuring a tidy and safeclinical environment, collecting and compilingdata.
8. Assistant Engineer II (Roads)
Duties and responsibilities:–
- Preliminary designs in road works
- Supervision of construction and maintenance of roads
- Preparation of work plans and progress reports
For appointment to this grade an officer must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution
- Registered by EBK as a graduate enginee
9. Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Duties and responsibilities:-
- Preparation of cost estimates
- Bills of quantities
- Monthly valuations on site
- Site re-measurements
- Preparation of variation orders
For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-
- A Bachelors Degree in Building Economics/ Quantity surveying or its equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution
- Been registered as a graduate member of either the Architectural Association of Kenya or the Institute of Quantity surveyors
10. Pharmacist
Duties and Responsibilities
- Screening prescription for legal validity drug interactions frequency and duration of dosing and patience convenience,
- Preparing and dispensing medicines according to good dispensing practices and counselling patients on use of medicines.
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B Pharm ) from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons board.
- have successfully completed at least one year of internship and been registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy and Poisons Act;
- Registration Certificate by the Pharmacy and poisons board.
- Computer knowledge.
11. Meat Inspector
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collecting livestock data and information
- Accompanying extension teams during farm visits and farmer training
- Participating in fields days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
- Certificate in animal health and production or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
- Six months training in meat inspection
12. Litigation Counsel
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertaking research on assigned legal issues, drafting and review of contracts,
- Assisting in litigation, legislation and other commercial law matters involving the County Government.
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
- Must be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Bachelors of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university;
- Post graduate Diploma in Legal Studies from Kenya School of Law;
- Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya having a current practicing certificate;
- Must be a member of the Law society of Kenya
- Must be a holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent;
