Kakamega County is one of the 47 counties in the Republic of Kenya. It borders Vihiga County to the south, Siaya County to the West, Bungoma County to the North and Nandi County to the East. The county covers an area of 3050.3 Km2 (Kakamega CDP, 2013). The altitude of the county is between 1,240 metres and 2,000 metres above sea level.
Job Description
Basic Salary Scale: Kshs. 31,270 x 1,300 – 32,570 x 1,380 – 33,950 x 1,390 – 35,340 x 1,460 – 36,800 x 1,470 – 38,270 x 1,470 – 39,740 x 1,520 – 41,260 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
- Coordinating water supply, sewerage works and pollution control;
- Ensure availability of water supply and provision of sewerage services;
- Prepare technical reports; and
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Have served in the grade of Inspector (Water and Sewerage) Job Group CPSB 11 (‘H’) for a minimum period of three (3) years;
- Diploma in Water Supply Technology or Water Engineering from a recognized institution;
- Have a Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution; and
- Demonstrate merit and ability reflected in work performance and results.
