Kisii County is one of the forty seven Counties of Kenya. It shares common borders with Nyamira County to the North East, Narok County to the South and Homabay and Migori Counties to the West.
The County lies between latitude 00 30’ and 100 South and longitude 340 38’ and 350 East.
It covers an area of 1,302km2, a population of 1,152,282 people as per the 2009 census.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Giving specialty attention to patients.
- Attending to emergency cases bias to areas of specializations.
- Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating patients’ common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient.
- Implementing community health care activities in liaison with other health workers.
- Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues.
- Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health.
- Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skill.
- Collecting and compiling clinical data.
- Referring patients and clients appropriately.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements For Appointment
- Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Must have a Higher Diploma in relevant area of specialization.
- Must have a Diploma and/or Degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community health from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of registration from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
- Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
