HRM Connection Job Vacancy : Accounts Payable

Our client a clearing and forwarding company is looking to fill the position of Accounts Payable.

Duties for the Accounts Payable Job

  • review and verify invoices and check requests
  • sort, code and match invoices
  • set invoices up for payment
  • enter and upload invoices into system
  • track expenses and process expense reports
  • prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
  • prepare and perform check runs
  • post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  • reconcile accounts payable transactions
  • prepare analysis of accounts
  • Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
  • Provide assistance by responding to financial questions/concerns to meet company’s needs.
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents.
  • Reconcile and verify entries and compare system reports to balances.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Preparing cheques and ensuring the safe keeping of all the cheques book and responding to vendor queries
  • monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Ensure supplier payments are done on time
  • research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Create Supplier accounts on the operating systems
  • Receive all LPO’s and Invoices for supplier payment
  • provide supporting documentation for audits

Accounts Payable Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/ Finance Option/Business Administration)- COMPLETED
  • CPA (K)- COMPLETED
  • At least 2 years’ experience as accounts payable in a busy organization/industry. (Retail/Manufacturing/Freight & Forwarding/hospitality).

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
  • Knowledge of general accounting principals
  • Proficient in relevant computer software
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Analytical Skills
  • Problem solving skills
