KOKO Networks is a venture-backed technology company operating in East Africa and India. We build and deploy cloud-connected “KOKOpoints” inside local retail outlets, which serve as consumer access points for goods and services delivered in partnership with major suppliers. Our first consumer solution is liquid ethanol cooking fuel, which delivers significant cost savings and quality of life improvements in the multi-billion dollar urban cooking market. In Kenya, this solution is delivered in partnership with Vivo Energy, the company which owns and operates Shell-branded fuels distribution infrastructure across Africa.
Your Role
As the Deployment Technician, you will be responsible for KOKO Agent outlet technical preparation in advance of our launch by executing specified and specialized activities in retail outlets across Nairobi neighborhoods.
What You Will Do
- Prepare agent shops for KOKOpoint installations through mounting support brackets to walls, drilling holes through walls using specialized drilling equipment, installing electric cables, sockets, earth electrode, routing cables, and hoses to identified points in the shop, and other duties of simple carpentry and welding
- Maintain supply levels of required items through constant tracking and engagement with deployment and store functions
- Ensure good work management of provided work orders, instructions. and schedules to meet daily targets and maintain high quality outputs
- Document installation activities by completing forms, reports, logs, and records using provided tools
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment in good operating condition by following operating instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and performing regular maintenance
- Continuously identify needs for improvement by conveying it to supervisor and engineering team to maintain high quality work standards
- Maintain customer satisfaction through professional conduct and engagements
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management System requirements
What You Will Bring To KOKO
- Diploma/Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years experience in a field installation capacity
- Experience using workshop hand tools and specialized power tools
- Aptitude to learn quickly and adapt to dynamic work requirements and schedules
- Team-first attitude and ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
- Appreciation of ISO 45001:2018 and other related safety standards
