NYEWASCO Job Vacancy : Head of Corporate Services

Our Client, the Nyeri Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NYEWASCO), is a limited liability company whose main mandate is to provide high quality water and sewerage services to residents of Nyeri County on commercial terms. The company wishes to recruit transformational individuals to occupy the following positions.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Corporate Services is responsible for advising the Board and Management on matters of Finance, Human Resource, ICT, Procurement (Administratively) and General Corporate Administration of the Company. The position supervises the Manager Finance, Manager Human Resource and Administration, Manager, Supply Chain and Manager ICT.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure performance measures are designed to evaluate performance against the strategic plan;
  • Ensure reporting on work done into the reporting structures in the company on a monthly; quarterly or annual basis
  • Play a senior leadership role in bringing the company internal community along to support the outputs delivered by developing effective and strategic relationships
  • Play a senior leadership role in bringing external stakeholders along with the NYEWASCO through open, professional and proactive engagement and with enforcement partners in relation to specific cases.
  • Take responsibility for the reports emerging from the directorate and all documentation sent to the MD
  • Build a highly effective team, by leading, managing and motivating staff and by directing and coaching them where appropriate, so that they achieve excellence in delivery.
  • Oversee organization Administrative issues
  • Oversee corporate budgeting, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, cash flow and debt management.
  • Coordinate the division and corporate wide systems purchases, implementations, and upgrades.
  • Manage the skills development for staff to ensure that training needs are properly identified and appropriate training is arranged
  • Manage and conduct performance management reviews for staff
  • Oversee corporate financial operations and financial management
  • Ensure effective implementation and compliance of all legislative requirement relating to corporate services
  • Coordinate corporate performance management
  • Debt collection
  • Mentoring and coaching of staff
  • Oversee overall management of corporate resources
  • Coordinate corporate activities
  • Responsible for physical assets assigned by the WSP
  • Make strategic, operational and financial decisions for the division
  • Plan the work of subordinates
  • Assigns work to subordinates
  • Monitors subordinates work performance
  • Appraises/evaluates subordinates’ performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management or any other Business-Related Field from a recognized institution
  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management or any other Business-Related Field from a recognized institution
  • Relevant Professional Qualification
  • Member of professional body or relevant body/member in good standing
  • Have served as Manager or equivalent position for a minimum period of seven (7) years; OR have 12 years’ cumulative relevant work experience six (6) of which should have been at managerial level from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge of the Water Sector will be an added advantage
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter six of the Kenyan Constitution on Leadership and Integrity
