Human Resource Officer at Nyandarua Institute of Science and Technology

Nyandarua Institute of Science and Technology was started as a public technical training institution through an initiative from the local community and leaders. The land was donated by the KARI . It was and Still the only public technical institution offering technical training in the entire Nyandarua County. Through a major funds drive in the 90’s, the first one story building was erected.Members of parliament from the various Constituencies in Nyandarua County came together and through the CDF completed the project. Consequently, the first Batch of Students were admitted in 2006. Since then the institute has grown and now has a student population of over 1,500 students.

JOB GROUP K

Job summary:

  • Develop the human resource planning policy and procedures in line with the institution ·overall policy
  • Advise the BOG on matters relating to Human Resource policies so as to make informed decisions
  • Act as the link between the management and the union through negotiations formulation of agreements such as collective bargaining agreements to ensure smooth Labour relations in the institution
  • Oversee the human resource trainings and development through liaison with other departments to establish human resource needs
  • Supervise variety of administrative service areas including catering, boarding, secretaries, transport to ensure all the operations in the institution are carried out smoothly
  • Oversee the administration of the staff appraisal forms and review the staff annual appraisals reports to monitor staff performance in the institution
  • Oversee recruitment and appointment of staff to ensure the institution has the right staffing
  • Undertake all other operational responsibilities as per the Human resource manual

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Management HR, Option)/Social Sciences with a Diploma in Human Resource / Higher Diploma in HRM
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Age limit: Below 45 years
  • Knowledge in computer literacy
  • Registered member of IHRM

In compliance to article six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, the applicant should provide:

  • Valid certificate of good conduct
  • Tax compliance certificate
  • HELB clearance
