PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Workshop Manager will be responsible for planning, co-coordinating and supervising the junior employees.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, co-ordinate and supervise all the workshop personnel in the yard
- To assist the employees in providing the required support and guidance.
- To promote a high level of employee relations through good working practices and to create effective working patterns to ensure the smooth running of the garage output;
- To ensure full compliance with the company procedures through regular monitoring and audits. To produce audit reports and liaise with appropriate managers on the results; e.g. frequent inspection of fire extinguishers.
- Record and maintain details/records of all incidents/accidents
- Ensure that the yard is adequately staffed to achieve set targets
- Facilitate orientation of new team members by familiarizing them with work surroundings, explaining work procedures, use of equipment and job expectations; and ensure that the new team members understand their respective roles/duties.
- Evaluate the impact of work delays, interruptions or changes in plans and develop appropriate course of action
- Monitor work flow to anticipate impact of delays due to team members being late, absent, leave/off, holidays and sickness and develop an appropriate remedial action.
- Maintain repair records on each vehicle.
- Ensure all administration records pertaining to staff, and any equipment and property issued to them, are maintained and updated
- Document any lost property/item and submit the date to the Managing Director
