Our client is an investment company that is a franchise holder for international brands within various industries including Quick Service Restaurants, beauty and cosmetics.
They have aggressive expansion plans within the region and are seeking applications from high caliber, positive and highly charged individuals interested in taking up the role of Marketing Manager.
The role is critical to developing and executing the overall marketing and strategic planning programs across their operations.
Marketing Manager Job Responsibilities
- Work with the Commercial Director, Operations to develop and implement strategic and operational marketing plans including promotions, campaigns and advertising that supports the business activities
- Execute customer, product and brand research activities to inform the product development and pricing strategies
- Interpret the insights from various research to inform the marketing plans and deliver a comprehensive customer segmentation approach which provides an understanding of the behavior, needs and attitudes of customer groups.
- Continuously determine customer segmentation basis and recommend suitable product approaches and marketing programmes to target and sustain viable segments.
- Work with company management to develop and execute brand plans
- Continuously conduct market and competitor analysis for management information
- Manage production of all publications ensuring adherence to franchise standards
- Work with store management to develop store-specific promotions to meet store targets
- Budget management for advertising, campaign and marketing spend
- Relationship management of local media companies and agencies and negotiate on price and quality.
- Develop and deliver a social media strategy and manage the company’s social media platforms
- Oversee the corporate social responsibility agenda and leverage on local and global initiatives for the benefit of the company
Qualifications for the Marketing Manager Job
- Recognised Marketing qualification
- At least 3-5 years’ successful performance in a marketing within the hospitality or Corporate environment with experience in product development and management
- Marketing management and strategic planning experience preferably in a multi-national environment
- Experience in hands on execution of marketing strategies in the East Africa region is essential
- A proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program including knowledge of campaign design and demographic targeting behavioral trends and analysis
- Detailed knowledge of consumer buying behaviour, marketing techniques and evolving trends
- Hands on operational marketing execution re: media, print and research
- Open minded individual with high impact communication ability including presentation and negotiation skills
- Multi brand experience, international brand experience preferred
- Project and program management competence.
- Able to work under pressure to strict and tight deadlines on a wide number of initiatives.
- Able to keep abreast of developments in the business and social environments
- Knowledge of research techniques & methodology
- Data driven, analytical, numeracy skills and commercial mindset
- Working experience with modern marketing media including social media, mobile phones etc
