The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. 265 of 1986 as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.
The Corporation is mandated to protect the gazetted forests from human encroachment by establishing continuous belts of tea bushes and assorted tree species which acts as a buffer between forests and communities living adjacent to the forests. The tea zones not only help to protect the forests but also in the rehabilitation of ecologically fragile areas.
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to Production Manager, the job holder will be responsible for maintenance of safety, supervision of factory workers for effective production of high-quality tea that meets required standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Allocating of duties to factory workers and managing their welfare.
- Liaison between workers and management for effective communication
- Ensuring effective cost control.
- Implementing production plans and strategies as per approved policies.
- Maintaining accurate production records and information
- Ensuring effective utilization of labour and production resources while minimizing any loss.
- Requisitioning required material for effective management and supervision of production
- Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time
Person Specification:
Academic Qualifications
- KCSE C(Plain)
Professional Qualification
- Diploma in food science or related field
Experience
- Three(3) years’ experience in production supervision in a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Computer literate in MS Office and other office application
