Qualifications and Competencies for the Senior Structural Engineer
- B.Sc Degree (Structural/Civil Engineering); Registered with EBK or equivalent body
- At least 8 years post-graduation working experience gained in a busy consultancy environment, five of which must be in structural analysis, design and construction supervision of bridges.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a technically responsible specialist in the field of structural engineering in: Bridges, High rise buildings, Low-rise Go-downs and Workshops, Steel and water retaining structures.
- Interpretation of geotechnical reports and site supervision.
- Proficiency in International codes and standards applicable to the above listed systems including BS and ISO standards;
- Preparation of project budgetary estimates, specifications, bills of quantities and Engineer’s estimates; Tender administration and evaluation;
- Construction supervision, Leading Design Teams;
- Testing and commissioning codes and procedures and AutoCAD detailing.
