LVCT Health is an indigenous Kenyan non-governmental and not-for-profit organization established in 2001. We are driving Kenya towards HIV prevention, with an ultimate goal of reducing HIV infections to zero. We offer integrated HIV services through development of models that are scaled up to the national models. We also carry out sexual and reproductive health research – translating our research to policy and practice; providing evidence for HIV policy reforms and service delivery; and developing capacities of indigenous organizations in building sustainable human resources for community HIV Prevention. We give special attention to those with greatest vulnerability to infection and with special service needs – including survivors of sexual violence, persons living with disabilities, men who have sex with men, Youth and Sex Workers. Our offices are in Nairobi, Western Region, Eastern and Central Region and Rift Valley.
Job Summary
The program officer will oversee HIV and TB clinical service delivery in multiple sites in various regions. They will provide clinical services at their base stations and offer mentorship support to service providers at other stations in their regions. They will also ensure optimal support to sites, prudent use of resources and timely and accurate reporting. Working with Kenya Prisons Services (KPS), the Ministry of Health and County Health Management Teams, the Clinical Managers will build the capacity of uniformed county clinical coordinators towards eventual transition of their roles to KPS.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Nursing from a recognized institution
- Higher diploma or bachelor degree in related field (added advantage)
- 5 years’ experience in providing clinical TB and HIV care and treatment service
- Recognized clinical mentor
- Registration and valid practice licence from the Clinical Officers’ Council or Nursing Council of Kenya
- MoH in-service training in HIV and TB care
- Training in the National Advanced HIV Clinical Course (NAHCC) (added advantage)
- Member of a NASCOP-recognized regional technical working group (added advantage)
