The current Kenya country strategy (2015 – 2020). Over the next five years, Oxfam in Kenya will significantly shift its way of delivering programmes that adopts an influencing and campaigning strategy to positively impact on the lives of the disenfranchised and poor people. We will be bold yet realistic about our ambition to achieve scale. To deliver this strategy we will invest in the team capacity and skills. Our role will be to convene to build wider coalitions, broker partnerships to help build national institutions capacity, strengthen their networks so that they can lead in shaping up the development agenda by holding governments to account, through a collective citizen ‘s voice. We will invest in strengthening our accountability and measure disaggregated changes we make in the lives of women from those in society in general. We will be more vocal and communicate effectively both internally and externally using digital technology. We will organize ourselves to focus on thematic areas rather than the current geographic focus.
The Role
Report to the MEAL Advisor, the primary responsibility of the role will be to manage the MEAL system to improve programme implementation in the operational areas. The post holder will develop relevant data collection and reporting tools, to ensure that there is standardization of monitoring and evaluation activities
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Project management, Disaster Management, Statistics or closely related fields, with specialized training in monitoring and evaluation, or a combined professional qualification and sound experience
- A minimum of 4 years of direct, “hands-on” working experience in building and operating monitoring and evaluation of projects/programs.
- Familiarity with project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation
- Organised and able to manage own time under guidance and direction from line-manager
- Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and beliefs, including strong commitment to gender, diversity issues, equal opportunities and capacity building
