Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Drives direct customer interaction and sales.
  • With Regional Commercial Manager (RCM)/ Regional Marketing Manager (RMM), re-organize and manage distribution strategy and partners Explore and define new markets / applications for existing products based on market feedback, regional needs and regulatory drivers.
  • Manages commercial projects and opportunities at any stage on technical and sales level by using appropriate tools like Salesforce, Datamart and sample management.
  • Understand market dynamics and communicates to RCM/RMM.
  • Develops jointly with marketing engagement programs (action plans) for priority markets to increase DuPont Water Solutions (DWS) visibility and positioning as technology partner. E.g. develop and implement profile column strategy for EMEA.
  • Understands and maps new domains, adjacencies into which DWS can win high-value sales and what is required to do so: new products, new technologies, strategic partnerships, new business models, acquisitions etc.
  • Provides technical support to existing and potential customer to position DWS’s products which includes close cooperation with DWS’s application and product development teams.
  • Supports the global marketing team globally based on TSR’s specific expertise through internal training / know how transfer and external seminars and workshop.
  • Gives technical presentations and talks on conferences, exhibition and customer seminars.
  • Engages with research institutes and R&D departments in the industry to make sure DWS products have an entry at the very early research and application development stage.
  • Forwards all competitive intelligence to the RCM and RMM.
  • Works with the EMEA team to align on market facing initiatives and day-to-day customer interaction. This is to ensure concerted activities and information exchange across sub-regions.
  • Compiles and updates product documentation material like case histories and products data sheets

KPIs:

  • Number of customer visits /monthly or quarterly (aim for min 10-15/qtr.) + ROC in CRM resulting in validated project opportunities in CRM
  • regional pipeline opportunities ($ value tracked in CRM, DM, DSR) to deliver $ growth. Target tbd
  • won projects increasing regional Revenue delivered in priority markets, in given calendar year.

Qualifications

 Profile:

  • Strong technical background with minimum 5 years industry experience in the water/industrial process industry, ideally water treatment.
  • Chemical and/or biological and/or engineering degree.
  • Background in both membrane and resin technology.
  • Proved commercial track record.
  • Experience in business development, portfolio & product management.
  • Ready to travel (60%)
  • Excellent written and verbal skills – English. Minimum of one other African language.
  • Based in Nairobi, Kenya.
