Supervisor – Business Intelligence Requirements at Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) was established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 469 of the laws of Kenya , which became effective on 1st July 1995 . The Authority is charged with the responsibility of collecting revenue on behalf of the Government of Kenya. A Board of Directors, consisting of both public and private sector experts, makes policy decisions to be implemented by KRA Management. The Chairman of the Board is appointed by the President of the Republic of Kenya . The Chief Executive of the Authority is the Commissioner General who is appointed by the Minister for Finance. PURPOSE OF KRA Assessment , Collection, Administration and Enforcement of laws relating to revenue.

Job Purpose

  • Development of advanced analytics applications gives insight to respective departments.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks

Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Support the development of profiling rules
  • Support Implementation of profiling rules, ranking and case selection
  • Support the Development and monitoring dashboards for monitoring case management
  • Roll out and training users of the BI platform

Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).

Academic qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics or related field.

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

  • Membership to a relevant professional body

Previous relevant work experience required.

  • Three (3) years’ working experience developing organizational reports
  • Experience working on business cases, requirements, test cases, scenarios and scripts
  • Experience rolling out systems and training users
  • Experience in change management will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Revenue collection practices and policies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to quickly synthesize Data and develop recommendations.
  • Demonstrable behavioral analytical experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal including effective presentation
  • Leadership qualities which include team work, good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated and adaptable to team environments
  • Meticulous and with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task as well as work under pressure
  • A person of integrity
