Analyst.Revenue Analysis at Kenya Airways

The Kenya Airways (KQ) commercial analyst is responsible for doing analysis that is instrumental in spotting opportunities for improving KQ’s revenues. You will support the department in budgeting forecasting and doing other ad-hoc analyses. This ranges from calculating the impact of new flights to investigating the impact of oil price on our revenue performance. You will be instrumental in monitoring and steering our revenues to be in line with company policy.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Production of analysis on trends in Revenue, Yield, Traffic-flow and booking developments and advises stakeholders on threats, opportunities and steers corrective actions.
  • Conducting detailed data analysis to develop hypothesis and build business cases to inform strategic trade-offs and decisions.
  • Developing models & analysis to support decision-making regarding key revenue initiatives across business lines.
  • Analysing the impact of pricing actions and provides recommendations on improving effectiveness of actions in the future.
  • Production of regular forecasts on performance and to derive actionable insights from these forecasts to increase revenue.
  • Creating dashboards and reports for different layers in the organization ranging from the CEO to demand flight analysts.
  • Be integral to the yearly budgeting process. You analyse past performance while liaising with other commercial departments to arrive at a realistic budget.
  • Supporting other commercial departments with ad-hoc analyses and share best practices in analysis and reporting.
  • Taking part and manage departmental projects like the implementation of new analytical systems and tools.
  • Providing insights through management reports on the performance of airline partnerships, the distribution channels and the various pricing programs in place.

 

Qualifications

 

  • 2-4 years of analytical experience in a commercial environment
  • University degree in a quantitative background (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Finance, Computer Science, Business or Information Technology).
  • Expert user of Excel with VBA skills.
  • Experience working with SQL and database querying and analysis (Tableau) – use large data sets to find opportunities, drive insights and provide recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, intellectual curiosity and ability to structure and solve difficult problems with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills. Ability to visualize data in presentations aimed at different audiences.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders on all levels in the organization.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and planning skills.
  • Bonus – R, Python or other programming language
