Duties and responsibilities
- Carrying out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production
- Accompanying extension teams during farm visits and farmer training
- Participating in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies and information.
- Collecting and collating livestock data and information for gross margins, market access inputs and products samples for analysis;
- Advising farmers on group formation, construction of farm structures and equipment
- Coordination of village production officers
- Delivery of livestock production extension services on all livestock production enterprises
- Conducting field days and on farm demonstrations relating to livestock production.
- Conducting training of livestock producers/ farmers
- Collecting and compiling livestock production statistical data
- Advising farmers on group formation, construction of farm structures and equipment.
- Collecting livestock production and marketing data.
- Preparing livestock production reports; Quarterly and annual reports.
- Monitor and reporting on livestock marketing and value addition at ward level
Requirements for appointment
- Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines:- Animal health and Production, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science and Technology, Animal production, Apiculture, Range management from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in computer applications.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present originals of the following documents during the interviews;
- National Identity Card;
- Academic and Professional Certificates and transcripts;
- Any other supporting documents and testimonials;
Current clearances from the following bodies:
- Kenya Revenue Authority;
- Higher Education Loans Board;
- A Registered Credit Reference Bureau; and
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate)
- Self-Declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and
- Recommendations from relevant professional bodies and associations (where applicable).
