Tana River County is one of the forty seven (47) counties in the Republic of Kenya. The County takes its name from River Tana which is the longest river in Kenya. It is a County in the former Coast Province, Kenya with an area of 35,375.8 square kilometers (13,658.7 sq mi) and a population of 262,684 according to the 2012 census.

Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
- implementing county environmental management plans;
- participating in environmental audits and following up implementation of the recommendations;
- maintaining register on compliance to environmental legislation, propose corrective actions and follow up on implementation;
- complying with occupational health and safety programs;
- coordinate environmental education and education;
- carry out environmental inspection and promoting environmental quality; and
- complying with the county’s environment management
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership to Environmental Institute of Kenya or relevant professional body; and
- Certificate in computer application
