ICT Assistant at Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)

Our Vision The Board has a vision for “A safe, efficient and effective engineering infrastructure, systems and processes for Kenya” The Board’s Mission The Board’s mission is “To ensure production of competent engineers and quality engineering services through regulation, capacity building and enforcing compliance with set engineering standards for improved socio-economic development”. The Mandate of the Board The Mandate of the Board is derived from the core functions as set out in the Engineers Act, 2011. The Mandate of EBK is: Registration of engineers and engineering consulting firms; Regulation of engineering professional services; Setting of engineering standards; Development of the general practice of engineering; and Training and capacity development.REF: Reference No: EBK/HR & ADM/RT/030/VOL. Terms of Engagement: Temporary for one (1) Year

Directorate/Department: ICT

Remuneration: Gross

Consolidated Remuneration: Ksh.40,000 per month

 Responsibilities

  • Developing documentation of computer programs according to instructions and specifications;
  •  Installing and configuring computer systems;
  •  Maintaining application systems;
  • Training users on effective and efficient useof ICT facilities;
  •  Maintaining up to date equipment maintenanceregister;
  • Installing, configuring and monitoring LocalArea Network components;
  • Assisting users in the Active Directory,e-mail server and User applications;
  • Updating and maintaining the Boards website;
  • Servicing and repairing ICT equipment; and
  • Performing regular data and application backups

Requirements

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration with a bias in Information Technology or related field.
  • Certification for CCNA/MSCE added advantage

  • · Membership to a relevant professional body.

TERMS OF SERVICE:

The positions are on Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service.

CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATION

  • Successful candidates will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya and will therefore be required to provide the following documents;
  •  Clearance certificates from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB),
  • Valid Tax Compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA),
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations ;
  •  Clearance certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB);
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission.
  •  Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
