Digital Channels Tribe Lead at Safaricom

We are pleased to announce the following opportunity in the Digital Channels Tribe within the Consumer Business Unit. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for persons who meets the criteria indicated below.

Reporting to the Director-Consumer Business Unit, the position holder will develop, evolve and deliver engaging digital experiences for Safaricom Consumers; Define, own, deliver, and evolve Safaricom’s strategy and execution around App and Web; Acquire customers through digital channels and increase digital channels penetration, experience and grow end to end digital contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen the Agile Way of Working as a role model.  The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate, support and motivate your Tribe members
  • Create and maintain cross-functional collaboration through holistic business awareness, understanding, and effective communication
  • Deliver digital enablers that will assist Business and Agile tribes in fulfillment of customer journeys
  • Digital channel performance & optimizations (e.g. mob/web development)
  • Digital operations and non-journey content development and campaigns
  • Oversee and steer digital transformation progress and KPIs
  • Define the digital channels vision and execution the digital channels roadmap
  • Support other tribes in seamless integration of their digital solutions in relevant digital channels
  • Create and maintain products and services related to Lifestyle, Web & Mobile App
  • Own (build, maintain and support) all client journeys related to Security, Identity & Access Management and continuously upgrade them
  • Commercialize the Web and APP channels

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Job Requirements

  • BSC. in Computer science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 – 2 years data science working experience and with a leadership role.
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression
  • Good scripting and programming skills
  • Good understanding of big data technologies like Hadoop
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills and quick grasps to understand business problems

  • Scanned copy of your National ID / Passport-Legal Form of Identification
