Our client is a regional logistics provider specialist, with its core expertise being transportation of Bulk petroleum products. They seek a Fleet Coordinator to join their team
Overall Objective
The Fleet Coordinator being responsible for the overall coordination and productivity of deployed the fleet will ensure that the fleet is fully engaged and moving as per the company policies and commitments to the clients.
Fleet Coordinator Job Responsibilities
- Continuously follow up and update the fleet movement records and provide management fleet movement reports at 8am, 2pm and close of business daily.
- Ensure maximum utilization of the fleet and client satisfaction by liaising with customers and planning for their expected truck requirement and coordinating utilization for any surplus feet capacity.
- Deploy the drivers for loading and issue them with loading order, fuel LPOs, journey sheet, mileage, consignment notes and any other necessary instructions.
- Discuss the Journey sheet with drivers after each trip.
- Check fuel consumption averages and report to operations coordinator any discrepancy before releasing the driver.
- Act as customer relationship contact report to operations coordinator any customer complaints delays, breakdown, short deliveries, damage of goods and any anticipated failure to meet customer demands.
- Ensure that the daily attendance of drivers & turn boys is correctly recorded in the computer.
- Monitor driver motivation and discipline.
- Prepare journey sheet.
- Ensure truck documents are all in order (maintain your file)
- Ensure any driver with short delivery is handled before next loading according to company policy
- Responsible for reporting all incidents/accidents noted within and outside the Organization.
- Responsibility of being a safety ambassador to ensure we all work safely and always be on the lookout for any unsafe acts or behavior.
Qualifications for the Fleet Coordinator Job
- Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of experience working with operation, maintenance and administration of fleet
- In-depth knowledge of fleet management solutions (preferably ROADBASE), fleet scheduling
- Thorough knowledge of transport management systems and operations scheduling
- Basic training in motor vehicle maintenance
- Self driven individual with ability to deliver with little or no supervision
