About the role: 

This position is responsible for the provision of strategic leadership and growth of Watu Credit’s brand position and image by managing marketing, advertising, branding, corporate communication, and promotional activities. Additionally, they will closely collaborate with the Media Team, participating in various customer response activities, engaging audiences through different media channels, communicating with stakeholders on different levels (customers, media, boda-boda stage chairmen, etc), and assisting in the drafting of legal responses/ press releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the preparation of new product marketing plans through research, analysis of the market trends and recommend changes on the marketing and business development strategies in cooperation with divisional heads.
  • Support Business Development to generate revenue for the Company.
  • Establish a system of reports and communications for all information relating to marketing and sales including feedback mechanisms.
  • Assist in media coverage and branding during corporate events to ensure look and feel is consistent with the Company brand through the use of social media posting, media coverage where necessary, banners, and other branded items.
  • Assist in preparation of Company publicity materials such as brochures, documentaries, e-shots to increase visibility and marketing.
  • Develop Company’s communication through various platforms such as website, social media, and mainstream media to ensure accuracy and quality of the information.
  • Support growing the business through recruitment of new clients and maintain good relationships with the existing clients through constant communication/ encouraging feedback and making timely follow-ups.
  • Facilitate in the coordination of CSR activities including devising long-term CSR programs that can give visibility to the Company’s work as well as enhance the products’ profile.
  • Team up with the Media Response team whenever necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Customer response team whenever necessary.
  • Engage with customers, dealers, and other stakeholders through different media channels.
  • Provide support in drafting legal responses/press releases on queries from customers and other stakeholders.

  • At least five (5) years’ experience of marketing in a large organization with at least 3 years in a leading position within an active commercial environment.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Public Relations from a recognized Institution.

PRIMARY ROLE:The Project Manager is responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of the Mental Health project and all activities related to it, including M&E, reporting, liaison with all key stakeholders at the County, planning & facilitation of workshops. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the project teams in improving mental health services in Nairobi urban slums. The Manager reports to HealthRight Kenya’s Associate Programs Director (APD), and works collaboratively with Director of HealthRight’s Peter C. Alderman Program for Global Mental Health (headquarter-based).

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

  • Lead the planning, implementation and coordination of all project activities.
  • Manage rapid start-up of project activities including procurement and contract management.
  • Coordinate and technically monitor the implementation of all project activities according to the objectives, indicators, work plan and approved budget and inform the Associate programme director on a regular/ongoing basis.
  • Track and monitor necessary programmatic, financial and technical inputs, and determine operation needs of the project.
  • Ensure regular and proper project documentation and reporting according to donor and HealthRight quality standards, rules & regulations and ensure timely reporting.
  • Ensure improved individual and community knowledge, attitudes and practices around mental health.
  • Implement a stepped care model for the integration of mental health services at the primary level of care and strengthen facility health management information systems (HMIS) with emphasis on mental health.
  • Lead the project team and ensure with the project support team the sound financial management (review, compliance of budget), administration and logistics of the project.
  • Provide technical and managerial support to all team members in fulfilment of their duties according to project objectives and ensure compliance with HealthRight policies and international standards
  • Develop and put into practice appropriate and cost-efficient monitoring tools to improve mental health situation with regard to expected results and indicators as is mentioned in logframe, work plan and other relevant project documents.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and alliances with implementing partners and other key stakeholders in the county
  • Represent HealthRight at the County.

Assist HealthRight senior management with any requests for information or data regarding project expansion or development

Facilitate staff capacity building and mentorship on mental health and create an organizational mental health mainstreaming framework for future maternal and child health projects.

Track achievements of project objectives and indicators and write progress reports in compliance with donor requirements.

Support country programme development efforts

Perform other duties as may be allocated by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Mental health, Public Health, Psychology or Health related Degree.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing integrated mental health programs.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in planning, implementing and managing health related projects.
  • Proven experience in administrative standards and requirements of donors.
  • Experience of working with MoH at the Counties and regional levels.
  • Knowledge of World Health Organization’s mental health Gap Action Programme Intervention Guide (mhGAP IG) and interpersonal therapy groups (IPT-G).

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Generates, identifies, develops, edits and maintains engaging online content for the icrc.org/Africa in English (photo galleries, feature stories and news releases) and African social media platforms in English;
  • Participates to Geneva’s forward planning, notably ahead of ICRC key dates and events in collaboration with headquarter and delegations to coordinate the publishing of special pages/posts on online platforms in a timely manner;
  • Coaches and trains English-speaking African delegation’s communication officers in charge of their local online content on both editorial and technical aspects;
  • Generates and analyses monthly statistical reports, measures the popularity of African online platforms in English with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and other tools;
  • Provides proven expertise in digital campaign management on both organic and paid visibility for search and social channels, to promote content;
  • With the support of our headquarters, the Digital Officer keeps the African online platforms technically updated;
  • Provides in-depth social media guidance on setting up a strategy, managing and mitigating risks, growing an engaged community, influencing audiences and effecting behavioural change;

Minimum Requirements and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Media or related field;

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

  • Lead the planning, implementation and coordination of all project activities.
  • Manage rapid start-up of project activities including procurement and contract management.
  • Coordinate and technically monitor the implementation of all project activities according to the objectives, indicators, work plan and approved budget and inform the Associate programme director on a regular/ongoing basis.

  • Assist in media coverage and branding during corporate events to ensure look and feel is consistent with the Company brand through the use of social media posting, media coverage where necessary, banners, and other branded items.

PRIMARY ROLE:The Project Manager is responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of the Mental Health project and all activities related to it, including M&E, reporting, liaison with all key stakeholders at the County, planning & facilitation of workshops. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the project teams in improving mental health services in Nairobi urban slums. The Manager reports to HealthRight Kenya’s Associate Programs Director (APD), and works collaboratively with Director of HealthRight’s Peter C. Alderman Program for Global Mental Health (headquarter-based).

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

  • Lead the planning, implementation and coordination of all project activities.
  • Manage rapid start-up of project activities including procurement and contract management.
  • Coordinate and technically monitor the implementation of all project activities according to the objectives, indicators, work plan and approved budget and inform the Associate programme director on a regular/ongoing basis.
  • Track and monitor necessary programmatic, financial and technical inputs, and determine operation needs of the project.
  • Ensure regular and proper project documentation and reporting according to donor and HealthRight quality standards, rules & regulations and ensure timely reporting.
  • Ensure improved individual and community knowledge, attitudes and practices around mental health.
  • Implement a stepped care model for the integration of mental health services at the primary level of care and strengthen facility health management information systems (HMIS) with emphasis on mental health.
  • Lead the project team and ensure with the project support team the sound financial management (review, compliance of budget), administration and logistics of the project.
  • Provide technical and managerial support to all team members in fulfilment of their duties according to project objectives and ensure compliance with HealthRight policies and international standards
  • Develop and put into practice appropriate and cost-efficient monitoring tools to improve mental health situation with regard to expected results and indicators as is mentioned in logframe, work plan and other relevant project documents.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and alliances with implementing partners and other key stakeholders in the county
  • Represent HealthRight at the County.

Assist HealthRight senior management with any requests for information or data regarding project expansion or development

Facilitate staff capacity building and mentorship on mental health and create an organizational mental health mainstreaming framework for future maternal and child health projects.

Track achievements of project objectives and indicators and write progress reports in compliance with donor requirements.

Support country programme development efforts

Perform other duties as may be allocated by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Mental health, Public Health, Psychology or Health related Degree.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing integrated mental health programs.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in planning, implementing and managing health related projects.
  • Proven experience in administrative standards and requirements of donors.
  • Experience of working with MoH at the Counties and regional levels.
  • Knowledge of World Health Organization’s mental health Gap Action Programme Intervention Guide (mhGAP IG) and interpersonal therapy groups (IPT-G).
  • Experienced in administration of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9).
  • Excellent ability to lead a team, work in a team and to mediate.
  • Experience working in urban informal settlements.

Overall Responsibility: The Digital Officer 2 leads efforts to deliver compelling and engaging content (proactively and reactively) through the direct management of social media channels and the website at regional level.

S/he provides guidance and support to staff at all levels of the organization on social media use and produces in-depth reports on content performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Generates, identifies, develops, edits and maintains engaging online content for the icrc.org/Africa in English (photo galleries, feature stories and news releases) and African social media platforms in English;
  • Participates to Geneva’s forward planning, notably ahead of ICRC key dates and events in collaboration with headquarter and delegations to coordinate the publishing of special pages/posts on online platforms in a timely manner;
  • Coaches and trains English-speaking African delegation’s communication officers in charge of their local online content on both editorial and technical aspects;
  • Generates and analyses monthly statistical reports, measures the popularity of African online platforms in English with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and other tools;
  • Provides proven expertise in digital campaign management on both organic and paid visibility for search and social channels, to promote content;
  • With the support of our headquarters, the Digital Officer keeps the African online platforms technically updated;
  • Provides in-depth social media guidance on setting up a strategy, managing and mitigating risks, growing an engaged community, influencing audiences and effecting behavioural change;
  • Together with the Digital Marketing Officer, leads on social media acquisition and advertising campaigns, including setting performance metrics.

Minimum Requirements and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Media or related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in digital communication;
  • Confirmed computer user and good knowledge of specialized online software;
  • Strong capacity to use a Content management system (Drupal and/or WordPress and others);
  • Expertise in Search Engine Optimization and Pay-Per-Click ads;
  • Certificate of good conduct.

The Platform is recruiting a Mechanization Support Specialist for eastern and southern Africa to help developing world breeders achieve higher rates of genetic gain and extract maximum value from new and proven technologies.

The EiB Mechanization Support Specialist that will support CGIAR and national agriculture research system (NARS) Institutions to develop and implement mechanization plans for their breeding programs, including acquisition and maintenance strategies. They will report to the EiB Breeding Operations and Phenotyping lead and work in collaboration with other EiB staff and consultants.

The successful candidate will be a mechanization specialist with strong communication skills, capable of providing technical recommendations and supporting implementation of mechanization and automation techniques across a range of different organizations and crops in western Africa.

The Mechanization Support Specialist will also be accountable for proposing and managing a mechanization network within the region. They will need to understand the demand and capacity across centers and manage the communication between centers to guarantee that all centers will have access to mechanization, offered as a service, reducing so the overall capital cost across the system of breeding programs.

The position will be based in eastern or southern Africa. The exact location – tentatively Kenya – is yet to be defined depending on operational needs and established partnerships with CGIAR sister research centers. It will involve significant international travel within the region.

Specific duties:

  • Develop machinery inventories;
  • Develop machinery acquisition plans;
  • Develop business cases for mechanization and process automation;
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures;
  • Develop a list of local/ regional /global vendors for critical equipment and services (shared across EiB members);
  • Develop metrics and KPIs for monitoring adoption of mechanized and automated solutions and for maintenance of machinery.

Required academic qualifications, skills and attitudes:

  • Bachelor in agricultural engineering, agronomy or related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • MBA will be viewed favorably.
  • Relevant global experience in agriculture sector.
  • Familiar with operations in large breeding pipelines.
  • In-depth understanding of the following process and respective mechanization options:
    • Soil Preparation equipment
    • Irrigation
    • Tractors
    • Planters and planting solutions
    • Harvesters and harvesting solutions including dryers
    • GPS
    • Sprayers
    • Seed process equipment
    • Seed storage options (cold rooms, packaging etc.)
    • Digitizing nursery and trial processes (packet printers, plot tags, labels etc.)
  • Experience with managing machine maintenance process (protocols, logistics, labor, costs, etc.).
  • In-depth understanding of agricultural machinery market within the region (vendors, service providers, etc.).
  • Project Management skills will be viewed favorably.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English (French will be considered favorably).
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment with leadership skills.
