Our client, a group of companies is seeking to recruit a Group Head of Credit, the role holder is responsible for the company credit policies, processes and procedures.
S/he is mandated to ensure good quality of company credit portfolio and compliance.
Location: Nairobi
Responsibilities
- Establish, review and implement group credit policy, institute control and establish frameworks to govern credit administration within the company.
- Institute credit governance frameworks/matrixes to guide, monitor and control company credit exposures against different credit terms and associated securities on credit
- Develop appropriate internal and external service level agreement that govern the credit process within the group while ensuring timely and accurate administration of credit within the group.
- Manage and supervise credit analysis, credit administration, security documentation teams and ensuring compliance to service level agreements within the respective Business Units
- Undertake annual review of credit risk management policies, procedures, templates and jobs, standard security documents and recommend and implement changes where appropriate.
- Oversee reconciliation of accounts and prepare monthly credit management and related accounting reports.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of debtors, payments received, and any reasons for non-payment and raising debit notes for unpaid cheques and follows up settlement.
- In charge of recoveries within the group and ensuring each operation is actively pursuing and maximizing recoveries as per set targets and listing of non-performing credits
- Initiate annual independent reviews of the credit portfolio in conjunction with Internal Audit functions & respond pro-actively to all queries raised therein.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / Commerce or any related Field.
- CPA -K
- Should have at least 10 years’ experience as credit controller of which five (5) must be in a senior management role in a large organization
- Experience in managing large teams is desirable
- Experience using an ERP software, SUN systems experience would be advantageous.
