Job Summary:
The Technical Advisor is the overall in charge of Key Populations Program within IRDO.
The position holder shall oversee and coordinate all planned activities, including providing technical support to the project implementation staff.
The role will support program staff in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, program quality and effectiveness, effective documentation and reporting among others.
Reports to: The Programs Officer
Location: Based in Siaya County; also oversee activities in HomaBay County
Technical Advisor Job Responsibilities
- Provide overall coordination, supervision and support the program implementation staff in the planning, design, and implementation of interventions targeting Key Populations.
- Monitor the progress of program implementation and ensure that re quire d modifications and corrective actions are undertaken on a timely basis
- Support staff to develop quality work pla ns, budget s, and report s and ensure that interventions are in line with Programs Unit annual and long term plans
- Ensure that interventions are designed and implemented to the highest quality possible and within the approved budgets and timelines
- Ensure all scheduled reports are generated, reviewed and submitted to the Programs Officer on time and are the highest quality possible
Qualifications for the Technical Advisor Job
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized training institution and in possession of a registration certificate issued by Clinical Officers Council.
- At least 5 years ‘experience in provision of clinical services including ART
- Experience work in g with Key Populations is highly desirable
- Experience in program coordination, coordination with county health departments and work in g wit h other relevant stakeholders
- Must possess the following qualities: attention to detail, excellent teamwork, good communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision, and high level of professionalism.
- Must be willing to visit activities in the field at least 80% of the time.
