Job scope: Sub-Saharan Africa
Reporting: VP Business Development Africa
Our client, an International Company that provide training and skill development solutions is looking for a BDM to expand in emerging markets globally and sub-Saharan Africa.
The BDM will work towards the development of the expansion plan for the region and acquiring market insights through in-depth understanding of the market.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and executing effective strategy towards impacting livelihoods of youth in Africa through collaboration with Governments & Donor community.
- To establish creative value addition models for future entrepreneurs and leaders.
- To create strategic professional business networks and partner for global competitiveness in order to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
- To achieve gender equality and empower by mentoring women and girls among other topics.
- New Business/Opportunity Development Support and consultancy.
- Undertaking policy outreach and engagement with relevant interlocutors such as government institutions and commissions with the aim of improving the programmer’s impact and buying by the government.
- Develop new partnerships with potential and existing clients.
- Lead the business development team.
- Acquire new and retain existing business.
- Embracing new ideas, collaboration and diversity, have the passion and courage to address the critical challenges of our time.
- Identifying opportunities for potential solutions and assessing them for business suitability.
- Ensuring that we are actively participating in the uplift of society through our products and offerings.
- Establish corporate presence across Africa.
- Lead development pipeline to ensure successful meeting of targets for initial cohort.
Required
- Must have a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years public relations, public affairs agency, or related experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience at a public relations or public affairs firm with some responsibility for client service and project management
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Outstanding public speaking skills
- Experience developing winning communication and campaign strategies
- Ability to manage and mentor junior staff
- Exemplary project management skills
- Working knowledge of issues related to client interests
- Willingness and ability to work in a dynamic environment, in a team setting.
Deadline: 25th August 2017
Salary: KSh. 350,000 – 400,000 negotiable based on experience plus other benefits
