A candidate is sought to fill the following position based in Nairobi.
Retail Manager
The purpose of this position is to implement the retail outlets business strategies, to exceed customer needs and to oversee day-to-day management of the company appointed distributors.
Key accountabilities:
- Business Development: Develop BOC Retail channel/market and increase sales through existing retail sales centres
- Recruit and manage Distributors
- Growth: Grow market share, determine strategy to grow sales volume through the Retail Channel
- Market Intelligence: Obtain an up to date understanding of the market, customers and products to ensure competitiveness
- Customer Service: Timely address retail customer concerns and ensure quick service at retail centres
- Stewardship: Analyse sales reports, identify trends, devise strategies and implement solutions in line with strategy.
- Compliance: Ensure the Company’s policies and procedures are adhered to in line with the company Code of Ethics and are effectively implemented to support business growth strategy and exceed customer needs.
- Leadership: Provide effective leadership, train and develop the Retail Centre teams to meet the required competencies on an on-going basis.
- Safety: Manage the SHEQ process, achieve safety targets, build commitment to sustain improvements in safety, quality and champion SHEQ initiatives.
- Internal controls: Manage risk at retail centres to ensure loss prevention and no irregularities
The successful candidate will be in possession of Bachelors degree in Marketing, Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in retail management.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to set up and steward distributors to grow, have general business exposure, cost/profit centre responsibilities and proven track record in customer service, team management and strong growth drive.
