Our client a leading FMCG company in East Africa is seeking to fill the role of a Brand Protection Specialist
S/He will be responsible for identifying and investigating criminal activity relating to intellectual property and trademark violations in the region for both local production and inter-country exports.
Brand Protection Specialist Job Responsibilities
- Brand Protection Strategy – review, refine, implement and administer a comprehensive Brand Protection Strategy
- Brand Protection Guidelines – develop and deliver appropriate supporting materials and guidelines
- Establish robust procedures – to manage queries, infringements and requests and determine appropriate responses and courses of action
- Lead in all Brand Protection issues concerning the company
- Conduct audits and Brand Protection training within our approved manufacturing facilities in the region.
- Conduct investigations; research vendors and follow-up accordingly to ensure proper protection of the Company’s brands and trademarks.
- Analyze and interpret data and information received/ collected from various sources.
- To act as the point of contact to update all salesmen on Brand Protection issues and to collate feedbacks from the field to the business.
- Develop maintain contact with relevant officers of the enforcement agencies as required driving the business.
- To understand and be fully operational on the use of the company’s Brand Protection tools
- To lead the development of relationship with relevant external bodies such as Association of Manufacturers, anti-counterfeit coalitions
Qualifications for the Brand Protection Specialist Job
- Diploma/ Degree in Criminology,/Criminal Psychology/ Forensic / Criminal Justice Related studies
- 5 years’ in investigative experience in Brand Protection / Anti Counterfeit in the FMCG industry
- Vast experience in criminal & forensic Investigations and report writing
- Knowledgeable in Intellectual trademark/copyright legislation
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills and able to speak comfortably and assertively over the phone.
