We are pleased to announce the following vacancy opportunity in the IT planning and Delivery Department within the Technology Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Quality Assurance the role holder will develop software quality best practises and testing frameworks for all safaricom products and lead programs to increase the quality of delivery and ensure zero customer impact on delivered products.
The role holder will build and procure testing tools and lead a testing automation program to create efficiency in the testing and support agile development lifecycles.
Roles for the Software Quality Assurance Lead Job
- Ensure all aspects of quality including functionality, performance, accessibility and quality
- Define test plans, test suited, test cases as well as utilize automated tools to optimize STLC for all Safaricom Products and Services.
- Develop test automation roadmap and execute it
- Build an end to end functional test environment for all IT Platforms
- Integrate with all existing infrastructure to establish a continuous build and test cycle.
- Responsible for leading the testing team on building, running and reporting on test cases.
- Define the project testing strategy
- Provide hands on support to perform testing activities and validate quality of releases
- Develop and administer QA schedules and monitor performance against the schedules
- Develop Technical and QA best practices and ensure adherence to them
- Define defect tracking processes and tools
- Coach mentor and motivate other QA team members
- Identify risks,suggest and negotiate mitigation to the risks.
Software Quality Assurance Lead Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software development or related course
- 5 years + experience in software analysis design or development in a busy IT environment
- Experience in at least one scripting language
- Experience working in a agile(SRCUM) and test driven development environment
- Experience developing test strategies, test plans and test cases
- Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
- Excellent Analysis, problem solving and time management skills
- Strong risk identification and mitigation planning skills
- Strong team leadership skills
- Experience of performance and other non-functional testing
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks
- System architecture experience and/or knowledge
- Experience of Acceptance Test Driven Development
- Linux Experience and/or knowledge
- Agile Certification/Knowledge
- ISTQB Foundation certification is a plus
