Dow Chemical Job Vacancy : Country Registration Specialist

The Dow Chemical Company has a very interesting opportunity for a Country Registration Specialist for East Africa to be located in Nairobi, Kenya. The Country Registration Specialist Provides registration expertise for actives and products in East African countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes registration resources requirements to creation of regulatory Plan of Work
  • Assembles and formats data/ information to deliver dossiers/packages submissions to regulatory authorities
  • Prime contact point and negotiator with regulatory authorities; builds and maintains partnership, negotiates and influences effectively regulatory authorities, legislative bodies and policy makers (as referred to specific project needs) during first approval, legal right to sell and product defense
  • Obtains approvals for product label(s) within project milestones
  • Stays abreast of / provides assessment of / and communicates regulatory, legislative and secondary approvals developments in own geography, which may impact the project concept or product lines, and the ability to maintain commercial freedom to operate. Effectively contributes to keep at the highest standard the functional responsiveness to legislative and business changes (as applicable, also through membership in industry associations and initiatives)
  • Through effective partnership with Regulatory Team and Tiger Teams (for both Create Product Success and Maintaining Exisiting Business Projects), ensures that local regulatory requirements are assessed and incorporated in the project milestones and planning, and that national/zonal regulatory requirements are represented during registrability assessments
  • Critical resource for local LCPT/Tiger Teams: forms partnership and advocates/ facilitates information flow between LCPT/Tiger Teams and Regulatory Team, to communicate and reinforce the overall regulatory strategy/implications, development of GAP, regulatory attributes, label development
  • Dow/Dupont as portfolio Regulatory compliance in area of influence.
  • Keep SDS sheet updated for all East Africa
  • Fill in the information for PTIP update database for East Africa countries
  • Contributes to Product Stewardship activities in area of influence
  • Provide regulatory support to food chain focal point
  • Government Affairs, Regulatory support to emergencies and other.
  • Master’s degree in agricultural sciences or related field.
  • Successful experience in the agriculture plant protection industry or similar

Fluent in Englishand/or Swahili (Oral and written)


3- 5 years of experience in the registration process is a must

  • Experience in working or dealing with governmental organizations.
  • Able to prioritize projects and manage them within agreed timelines
  • Proactive and effective communication
  • Autonomy: Ability to anticipate and solve problems proactively with little guidance and
  • Distant supervision
  • Can work effectively under pressure and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Must be flexible and have good interpersonal team skills
  • Positive attitude, with an open-minded approach to learning
